I have a profile that causes odd behavior, within the profile, and to the OS.

Regarding the profile itself:

1. I use Multiple Tab Handler, which should allow me to move tabs on the tab bar with the mouse, but it does not (see image of proper behavior)

2. Normally, i can drag this padlock button to the desktop to create a shortcut. but now, it will not move/drag (see image 2)

3. I also have a backup profile from several months ago that has none of the above symptoms. However, If I substitute it's sessionstore.jsonlz4 file with the the one from the problematic profile, all the bad behavior mentioned above re-emerges.

I know this sounds strange, but, I also get external display issues when using the broken profile. These events are random, and manifest themselves differently, so I can't duplicate them. Essentially, these snips are examples of images from the taskbar tabs, or the clock area, suddenly superimposing themselves on the top portions of the taskbar toolbar area.

This is the view of my clock area (see next image 3)

In the following image, imagine that the portion on the left, that opens the start menu, is now hidden under what looks exactly like the clock area on the right, superimposed over it (see next image 4)

Those aberrations are removed by simply moving the mouse cursor over them, but they will continue to occur in any number of variations over any area of that top toolbar.

Is there a Session Manager that will save the session, to be later restored into that previous profile, but not also pass along the corruption?

My machine / firefox browser updated today

Suddenly - ALL of my bookmarks have dissapeared ?

All folders, all loose and all on the tool bar

ive tried to follow steps to recover but all are gone ?

I updated Firefox, and all my bookmarks disappeared, and I can no longer bookmark things, alongside this, websites no longer autofill in and my browsing history is gone. I tried restarting but that did not work.

Logged into my Firefox account and after restarting the browser my tabs and browser history are gone. Every file in "sessionstore-backups" is also deleted and now only has two newly created recovery files. Why did Firefox delete my desktop browser session after logging in? Can I somehow recover my old session or maybe at least my browser history?

I had a whole bunch of open Firefox tabs and tab groups all carefully arranged just the way I wanted, then somehow a couple of tabs got moved to a new window (don't know how that happened, I didn't click the "Move Tab" and "Move To A New Window" menu options), and when I was trying to figure out how to move them back (not possible, apparently) the original window got accidentally closed -- and with it all my tabs and tab groups! When I reopened Firefox they just weren't there. Aagh! Clicking on History just shows the last tabs I accessed, not the full arrangement of groups and the many other tabs I haven't accessed in awhile but want to keep at the ready.

Can I get all that back? Or was relying on Firefox to organize my online work a bad idea?

I lost all my bookmarks with the most recent update of Firefox. And now, it won't even let me bookmark anything. It just doesn't respond at all. I have an html of an older version of my bookmarks and was just going to re-populate my bookmarks, but that doesn't work. Plus, when I try and see my download history... nothing there either.

Okay, we had a power outage while my computer was on. When I rebooted, everything worked but Firefox. The sites would come up, but the keyboard would not work. (It worked on every other program.) So, I "reset Firefox." In that process, it made me add the Webroot extension. Now, my new tabs folder is all wrong. It is full of ads. It does not have my regular new tabs. And when I click on facebook or amazon, it does not take me where I want to go.

How can I sync my laptop new tabs to my desktop?

Or, how can I restore my old new tabs on my desktop?

I am using this ID for so long that i don't even remember for how long. today i reinstall the window and login to mozila account but i don't recover and sync my bookmarks or anything. i didn't faced any problem like that before. help me sync and recover my bookmarks and settings. its really important for me

I cannot find any tutorials online per '"how to find or recover cookies-passwords-or bookmarks when I deleted an older version of Firefox and installed a newer version of the Firefox app."' I don't know what version the previous 'deleted' firefox app was. I'm using the up-to-date version 138 as far as I can tell. Are all my cookies and bookmarks and passwords lost permanently?

I am repeatedly (a couple of times a week for the last several weeks) losing bookmarks. It is possible for me to regain them when I follow the instructions given by Firefox, but I am frustrated with having to do it repeatedly. I am including below the instructions I am following so that someone out there might be able to identify the root of the problem. I updated to Windows 11 Pro, version 24H2 on May 2, 2025.

My suspicion is that a "helpful" friend made some sort of error. Earlier this spring, he deleted Microsoft Defender Malware Bytes (I think) because it was interfering with bookmarks. Maybe it has something to do with running Windows 11. If all that sounds confusing, it's because of my lack of technical expertise. I will be grateful to anyone who can help me.
