Good morning, I have a problem with disappearing bookmarks, but I can organise the backup of the places.sqlite, but I assume that won´t be enough to recover, therefore my question is, which files would be needed or is the one mentioned sufficient?

I Cannot restore 3/1 or 2/29 Bookmarks!!! What's going on with Firefox??? Now, all there is in my Bookmarks are five listings saying, " BS2trash folder for undo of bookmark deletes- DO NOT REMOVE ..."

I wouldn't have to do this except that somehow, a Bookmark folder disappeared. All too often is has occurred. I have many, many very important Bookmarks. How can I get them back---and soon?

I know this is an ongoing issue but it seems like nobody has mentioned it in a while so I figured I would stir it up again. I am fed up with the bookmark double spacing and having to scroll down all of the time.

If nothing else I would think that the Firefox team owes all of its loyal users an explanation as to why they don't seem to want to fix this probem.

I recently upgraded from Window 7 to windows 10. Ever since, the spacing between the bookmarks has significantly increased. I read several post about this and they all seem to be looking for something in Firefox. I think it has to do with something in windows 10, not Firefox. Any ideas? I've already done the Density/Compact thing. Slight improvement, but not anything like it was under Window 7.

Bookmarks. I can't seem to log into my saved sites on any given day. I can log in on Monday but on Tues it will not log me in. Hell, it will not even show that I've got the saved bookmark at times. Yesterday I did banking from my PC just fine and today I tried again to log in and it failed, so I had to deleted everything AGAIN and started fresh. This has been happening for 2 months and it is affecting ALL my logins. I get locked out, delete, refill and repeat....I've had to call my banks and amazon because the switch over from Google was a gong show...I got locked out of every account. I can log in on my phone while looking at this stupid computer telling me NOPE you login password or name is wrong. Oh, and the pc doesn't sync the bookmarks with my phone so I've hand to manually add the bookmark.....I've actually had to carry my physical bookmark book for a month because I'm on the move a lot and couldn't trust firefox would let me into any of my sites....

Hi - I just reset my PC and trying to restore Firefox. I saved the default release folder (qejikze4.default-release-1669319412153) which contains the latest bookmarks in the "bookmarkbackups" folder. I tried to just replace the bookmark file in the new install (how I previously transfered them), but I can't find the files in the latest V.120 version. Any suggestions on how I can do it?

For years had bookmarks in folders showing on Bookmark Toolbar. Today they are all gone. Still in my Bookmarks on the drop down Menu, but not appearing on the Toolbar. Please help. Can't seem to drop and drag them there. Also, the Bookmarks Toolbar keeps disappearing every time I go to look at a new tab.

Hi. I'm trying to transfer Firefox bookmarks from a hard drive pulled from a now dead iMac (was IOS 10.13.4 + Firefox 116.6.0) to a MacBookPro laptop running BigSur (11.6.8) and Firefox 122.0.1. I have the iMac HDD plugged into a hot swap docking station. A search for places.sqlite on the old HD turns up nothing.

I have found answers for drilling down into Windows to find the appropriate files to transfer, but not for Mac. I didn't know Firefox Sync existed until now, and I don't know where to look for a profile on the hard drive. Suggestions?

Ok, this is going to be a bigger problem that I thought. The laptop is my wife's old university-owned mac, and there's a whole "admin" layer of hidden and mixed-up folders. I need to go see the admins for help.

I just downloaded the latest Firefox browser, and it asked me to import all of the my bookmarks, but it only grabbed the ones from Chrome. All of my former bookmarks that were saved in the previous Firefox browser are gone! Most of my useful bookmarks were in Firefox. Where are they, and how do I get them back?

The book mark menu option (displaying the bookmark menu and allowing selection) has disappeared from the book mark tool bar and I can't find a way to add it back. Any suggestions?

Two computers. Both computers name version of Firefox and same version Of Windows 10. On computer 1 drag and drop no longer works. I can click star next url and manually to bookmark toolbar. I also cannot reorder on tool bar by dragging and dropping by selecting.

How do I know I'm doing it correctly? On computer 2 it works exactly as should. Click on padlock and drop or click on entry and toolbar and reorder. Same extensions etc and do not have a bookmark extension though have tab session manager. Same version both computers. Only difference in browser is number of tabs open. x 10 difference in number of tabs open computer 1 versus 2.

If I put firefox in troubleshoot mode with extensions etc off or create a brand new profile and try same problem.

Apprantly Firefox updated last night. I still show all the names of my bookmarks but NONE of them have any information in them. Probably lost my passwords too.

Tried all the fixes shown in prior posts. This is unacceptable !

Got a new MAC Trying to delete old bookmarks but no go. The old bookmarks used to be in "Other bookmarks" but now they only show up in "All bookmarks" and the Star will not let me activate the Delete Bookmark button

I start Firefox from a batch file (Win7) on the first boot of the day. Manually I choose my "NEWS" bookmarks folder, then slide down to "Open all in tabs". (attached image) (Then I go pour a coffee while the news article tabs open and load data!)

Please and thank you, is there a way to specify this action from the command line? And if so, what is it?

I believe that I could use such a mechanism in other ways, such as opening all tabs in my "Forums" folder of bookmarks, or on Mondays, opening all tabs in my "Weekly" bookmarks folder.

I have used Firefox with sync since sync were released. Today (25th dec), all of a sudden hundreds of saved passwords are gone, just 9 out of at least 200.

I have changed the password for my account and logged in. Tried to logout and login again but just 9 passwords is found, extremely frustrating!

Anyone got a clue what has happened?
