According to Mozilla and all other online instructions for changing Firefox wallpaper, one must click on the Settings icon (pinwheel) in the upper right corner of a new tab. There is no such icon anywhere on the new tab screen. There is no wallpaper to select under the Settings menu (three dashes) in the top right hand corner. I have the latest version of Firefox. What version are these instructions for? And how does one change the Firefox wallpaper? Firefox is my default browser in Ubuntu 2204 LTS.

I don't like Cntrl T to open a new tab. In fact, I don't want to use two fingers at all. How can I get back the little plus sign at the end of the tabs to open a new one?

I recently set a custom background image for the Firefox new tab page (and possibly the homepage), but now I’d like to remove or replace it.

I’ve already tried:

   Going to about:config and enabling the following:

       browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.newtabWallpapers.customWallpaper.enabled → true

       browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.newtabWallpapers.ui.enabled → true

   Searching for a gear icon or any UI options on the new tab or homepage – but nothing appears.

I also checked about:preferences#home but there are no visible options to manage background images.

How can I remove or change the custom background image? I’d appreciate instructions, config paths, or a file location where I can delete the image manually.

Hello, when many tabs are open, the mute button takes up almost the entire tab. When I go to a tab, I get to the mute button... https://assets-prod.sumo.prod.webservices.mozgcp.net/media/uploads/images/2025-03-01-03-07-42-491a45.png Is it possible to remove this function on the tab, but leave the sound icon itself? So that when I click on the sound icon, the tab is switched to instead of mute?

Please tell me whether I need to a)uninstall/reinstall Firefox OR if there is a setting somewhere that I need to use to correct this problem. I usually use Arial variations and need at least 14 for font size. My settings are always the same. My machine is a Lenovo ThinkPad and the OS is Windows 11. I have four bars at the top of the screen, File/Edit, below that tabs, below that the search bar, and below that bookmarks. Before yesterday everything was the correct size for my vision. I have been experiencing this issue for a while, but only just now noticed it. When I hover over a tab, nothing shows up; no preview, no title, no web address, nothing. I have a few extensions, but uninstalled any that would effect tabs at all, with no change. All other extensions I have had since I switched over to Firefox. I have attempted to search for solutions, and have followed what I found. Multiple support questions here have gotten the answer of going into the config to change the following Boolean variables to be true:

   browser.tabs.hoverPreview.enabled 
   browser.tabs.hoverPreview.showThumbnails 

but when I went to do so, they were both already set to true. I disabled and then re-enabled them just to check, but nothing changed. I have a ridiculous amount of tabs open, but that's the only other thing I can think of that would be causing this issue. Just in case, I am in the process of closing as many as I can.

Any advice or assistance would be appreciated.

I am using Linux Mint in Dark Mode. Most emails which come through are easily read in the panel. See attached.

But others are practically unreadable in Dark Mode. See attached.

How do I adjust the settings so that the unreadable ones become readable in the panel. Thank you in advance or any help.

During my quest of trying to get macOS and apps to look more like I want, I haven't found any answer online on how to modify the rounding of Firefox corners to be square. I have also heard that Firefox has a known bug of not respecting system appearance, so I have decided not to mess around with important system files. So my question is: What would be your recommended way to square the window corners for macOS?

I'm not sure when it started (this week maybe?), but I've been noticing a small graphic appear to the right beside the Firefox icon when I hover over it. The same graphic also appears when hovering over Thunderbird's icon. Does not appear when hovering over any other icon on my task bar. It appears whether I am connected to the internet or not. I ran Malwarebytes latest build antivirus, which found nothing. Any ideas what this graphic is and/or what is it for?

Hi. I'm trying to switch from chrome to firefox, and I see this strange, thick gray border/padding around the content of every page I view in the browser.

It's perfectly consistent between tabs and not part of the actual web pages. It grows and shrinks as I resize the window. It makes everything a bit smaller than it is in chrome.

I haven't been able to search and discover what it is/a solution, because the terms I try to search for produce different topics. What is this? Is there a setting I can change to turn it off?
