All my bookmarks are gone especially ones that are important to my work. I tried to restore but I get an error saying unable to process backup.

Why is this happening and so anti user? any answer to this would be appreciated.

starting with FF update 56 to 57 and so on I got this strange problem: it looks like my key4.db file gets corrupted and FF become almost useless after I access my saved passwords and then exit the browser. If I delete the key4.db file (I still have the key3.db and logins.json files in profile folder) everything works fine. The key4.db file is generated, my passwords are there and I can use them till next browser exit/restart. Here are the symptoms:

- upon start the browser directly asks for master password (normally I'm asked for the master password only when I really need it) - no browsing history is shown in the address bar - enter key and 'Go to...' button do not work at all (I can only open a site if it is bookmarked) - when I go to browser's options there is nothing under 'Search' section - in other words the content cannot be loaded or displayed - when I open 'Saved Logins' dialog there is nothing - there are no *corrupt files in my profile directory

So when this happens I have to exit the browser and delete the key4.db file. However if I don't access my saved logins during the session at all, there is no such problem. I can start/use/exit the browser as many times as I want and it works fine. So it looks like the access to the saved logins breaks something.

I was using Firefox while my PC crashed. So I had to force-restart it. After I reopened Firefox, I was asked to reconnect to my Firefox account to sync it. When I typed my password (which I was 10000% sure that it is correct), it said that it is wrong. So I reset it. After I connected to the account, I was surprised that all my saved passwords in my Firefox account disappeared. My bookmarks were there, nothing happened to them. Also, synchronizing Logins was checked in the sync settings, so I really didn't find any explanation for that!

My VISTA computer's motherboard died, and thus the computer, but the hard drive was saved. It's now an external drive to a Win 10 laptop. When I go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox the directory is dated 5/23, the day before the crash, so something got updated, but the most recent date on files in the directory is 5/10, including the file firefox..application..505kb. When I double-click it and go Bookmarks>All Bookmarks>Import and Backup>Restore there's no file dates in May except the one created yesterday when I was trying to find a way to get a missing bookmark directory and its contents recovered. Thus: How can I get my missing bookmarks back? Are they on the rescued C: (as some kind of "Favorites" file), or "in the cloud" somewhere? Is the firefox file I mention above the correct file to double-click? All help is immensely appreciated. Thanks, Dave

Hi, My lenovo x230 turned off yesterday without a reason and today I turned it on then went to Firefox (linux, installed from source in /opt/) and then I saw "restore session" button so I restored it because I'm a programmer and I have many cards opened and then I realized I don't have my passwords remembered in Firefox... so I went to Settings Privacy and then I saw it's not logged to my Sync Account, I logged and click Sync but still nothing.... no passwords... so I go to my Firefox on Android and what? There's all passwords... I tried to sync it between these 2 Firefoxes but it transfer to PC only that passwords I saved only on my Android... even if there are all my passwords on that Android device from PC too... :/ what should I do?? it's weird....

In the morning everything was in place - after several hours like 5-6 I started firefox again and all my bookmarks are missing and also all my saved logins are missing - only all the history remains. Can this be recovered? Please note that bookmark recovery did not recover anything.

Would like to check why upgrade to firefox quatum , the password list is not show any password i store. the show the password icon cannot be click

Firefox updates from 50.1.0 to 56 and thereby loses all my passwords. What's the problem here? The update is put into "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\" path in my window 10 HP computer.

Going from ESR to regular firefox bookmarks and saved passwords are gone. Import does'nt have an option to import from ESR version. How do I get my bookmarks and saved passwords back?

After signing in to my Firefox account the history is still present but all my bookmarks from the account are gone. I tried on both Windows and Android and none of my saved bookmarks are showing.

Since I've updated to 61, I can't get the history to be active. (Bookmarks are fine). I made sure the settings were correct, I ran Refresh firefox; I ran Verify integrity and got this:

I've looked up numerous help sites, and they all refer to a place.sqlite file that I don't seem to have, and a profile folder that also does not exits (I'm assuming this is a 61 thing, in my older versions I had those files and folders.

I tried everything but nothing seems to work. Yesterday when I opened my computer all bookmarks and history were gone.

• • • I received this msg "The bookmarks and history system will not be functional because one of Firefox's files is in use by another application. Some security software can cause this problem." ***

Hence I tried with all of the following options and nothing has worked yet.

-I tried the "places.sqlite" file solution multiple times (renaming, deleting, etc.). Did not work. -I tried refreshing Firefox solution (completely new profile). Did not work. -I tried deleting & reinstalling Firefox. Did not work. -I also try restoring bookmarks from library and a new error message shows: "Unable to process the backup file." -I tried to export my back-up HTML bookmarks that I saved from 3 months ago. Guess what? Did not work. -I tried to get the bookmarks from other browser (chrome) and it did not work either.

Can any of you help me recovering the bookmarks please? Thanks in advance.

Hi, I have a little problem with sync. I reinstalled my Windows. Completely And now I do not have my Mozilla bookmarks. It happened because I had forgot my Mozilla password and I reset a new password. When I logged in with a new password I have empty bookmarks. How can I recover my old bookmarks?

Tried to opened Firefox this morning. Immediately received message box that "Firefox was updating, please wait". When Firefox window opened I did not see my Homepage. Instead there was a window asking me to launch POCKET via Firefox, GOOGLE or email. I was surprised because I had no idea what "POCKET" was. I clicked email but the next screen gave me no more information about what POCKET was so I backed out and opened another window with my HOMEPAGE. When I next clicked BOOKMARKS I discovered my BOOKMARKS folders were all empty----- no bookmark links at all. I tried "Restore Firefox" - (nothing) and then "Restore Bookmarks" ( also nothing.) I am devastated...... Please Help

Hello, my problem is as follows:

I had a session open when i updated Firefox. It closed the browser however Firefox didn't show me any indication that it was updating so i tried open it again. Right that moment the update window showed up and somehow Firefox crashed. When i opened it again, my previous session was lost and i have no way of retrieving it. There is no option popping up in the menu that says 'Restore Session' and other methods that i have seen online are a bit difficult to understand.

Also the sessions i can recover are all after Firefox kinda crashed/Firefox updated so i don't know how to get my old session back. The session i want to recover is before i updated to Firefox 62.0 on the 10th, September. (Time stamp would be around 5:30pm CEST)

Oh and i have seen this thread (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1204253) and i tried doing it, but the session i want back is not there.... does that mean worst case scenario happened and i won't be able to get my session back? ;____;

This may be a dumb question but would reseting my windows version to 9th, September help? I mean it would erase the update i did for Firefox and should (as much as i know <.<) also reset the setting for Firefox to yesterday's ones correct? But would that help since my problem is on the net surface and not a computer problem >.>

Firefox is set for automatic updates. I have no issues with my anti-virus program. After Firefox update 62, all of my user IDs and passwords are gone. I have tried restoring everything via my pc (windows 8.1). I have tried restoring Firefox. The saved passwords and User names are gone. Is there a way to restore them, or do I need to rebuild the list....one at a time?

After upgrading to FF 62.0 on Debian 9 I'm getting the message "The bookmarks and history system will not be functional". I already tried all the steps described in https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fix-bookmarks-and-history-will-not-be-functional

Additionally i tried: - Creating a new Profile - chmod -R 777 on profile folder - running Firefox in safe mode

None of these helped

Suddenly today when I opened Firefox, the Top Sites section on my new tab page had only blank icons. I previously had several pinned sites. I'm also unable to manually add any top sites. If I try to add a new top site, and enter a name and URL, when I click the "Add" button, nothing happens. No new site is added. I have uninstalled, rebooted, and reinstalled Firefox several times with no success. I also went into about:Config and saw that for the item browser.newtabpage.pinned, the value contains all the URLs for my pinned sites. They're just not appearing on my new tab page and I'm no longer able to manually add any top sites. Also, none of the sites I visit now show up, they're all just blank icons. I'm using Firefox version 62.0.

I have firefox 60.0.2 (32-bit) . I wanted to run a java applet so I downloaded Firefox Setup 52.9.0esr 32 bit . I used the same profile. After closing the 52.9 and opening again 60.0.2 I noticed that I lost all the history sites. I uninstalled Firefox Setup 52.9.0esr but it didn't returned back. What I can do? Note:I installed the two versions in different directory
