Hi, I have a problem here.

Reinstalled system, also installed fresh FF, i logged in into sync and nothing happened. I thought, that "synchronize now" is for loading my content from sync. Instead, I loaded black, fresh FF settings & bookmarks into my sync. Does it mean, that my previous bookmarks saved on the server are gone forever?

I was collecting my bookmarks for something like 7 years. I'm depressed :C I need them to work. What can I do?

I was always backing up my bookmarks in the file, but not this time. And no, I don't have any previous versions on disc anymore. Please help.

i synced my account on this pc but nothing showed up and when i went to delete what i thought was the sync on the pc, its turned out to be my actual account, i need to retrieve my account as its in use on 5 pcs

I have lost all homepage tabs, add-ons, cookies, last pass info, etc. Last security update was April 7 2015. Not sure it is relevant, but at least coincidental w/ occurrence of my problem Can I recover?

I looked at "synch" but not sure it applies to me. Using only 1 laptop with Windows 7.

I've been using my own Sync 1.5 server since January without having any issue until this week.

I am unable to sync my clients, getting the "Sync encountered an error while synching: Unknown error, Sync will try again automatically."

The problem seems to happen at line 101 (on pastebin).

Here's some more info about my setup.

Syncserver 1.5.2 installed on a local server running on Linux.

I have 1 Windows client, 2 Linux clients. None of them can sync. All uses Firefox 38.0.

I deleted firefox as I was having some issues with the browser. I did a clean install. I'm using Mavericks and firefox 33.0.2 version (because I went into time machine to recover bookmarks since the new version firefox 39 did not have them)

When I downloaded the 33 version, firefox opened but no bookmarks? I have tried: 1. going to library in time machine and trying to find the "bookmarks profile folder or Firefox Profile Folder---NOTHING?

Any ideas? if this bookmark folder gone? otherwise where is it?

I had to reset my computer. I backed up everything and verified that my sync worked. When I put in the password, the account wouldn't take it. So we had to reset the password, but still nothing is coming through. Can you assist? Do you have a backup anywhere?

Firefox removed all my stored passwords, and this is going to be a huge problem for me.. They were all in Firefox password manager, or whatever its called, and i tried to lookup logins.json in %appdata%, but it only shows the last password in the list (i had only added a new one when i found out all old ones were gone-made an account at a new site before going through old ones).. The logins.json does not show a rollback history(previous versions)..

I think the fonts etc look different now than it did yesterday, so it could have been an update during the night? Either way, how can i restore it??

I recently had a power failure, which meant that Firefox didn't close down properly when the PC powered down. When I restarted, Firefox had lost all of my previous settings, ie bookmarks, passwords etc, so I have tried to recreate a profile which contains all of the previous elements. However, there is clearly something wrong & although I have deleted the places files & run the "Refresh Firefox" utility, these continue. My main bugbear at present is that I cannot either backup my bookmarks file, or export it in HTML format, in order to even consider creating a brand new profile. I have also noticed that my new profile has a bookmarksbackup folder, but is never getting populated with any content. I do have an old profile which I have used to recreate the profile that I am using now, but I am beginning to wonder whether there is some sort of corruption in the files contained, which means that I am simply recreating the problems, over again. I have a number of other quirks & eccentricities, ie the clear downloads button doesn't always work & all of the small icons on my bookmarks have disappeared & show no sign of refreshing, even though a week has elapsed since the original "crash". So, are there other files that I need to delete / recreate in my profile, in order to get back to normal functionality ?? As I say, my biggest current problem is not being able to backup or export my current bookmarks file - it says that it is being done, but no files are actually created. Oh, and I can create new bookmarks, but once again, the small icons which use to be created, no longer appear. Many thanks for any assistance out there.

When firefox asked if I wanted to update to the newest version, I answered NO! I had already discovered on my other computer that if I allowed the update, I would lose my ability to restore the previous session, so I wanted to save the tabs so I could reload them. I also lost all of the saved passwords on my other computer and didn't want the same thing to happen on my work computer. But despite answering NO. Firefox updated anyway, and I have lost days of work. How do I get it back? Jack

After the last Firefox update all of my saved passwords words were wiped. I saw some technical changing files and resetting things. I need an easier path. I tried using a system update, but my laptop refused to do it. It keeps thinking the antivirus is on, when it is not. Please help!

Accessed my email and other accounts up till 5 o'clock pm. Passwords for amazon, estores, and everything gone. Tried to retrieve email pwords. My two emails were each others' backup. So, that failed. My new cell phone number of 3 months (that I entered for yahoo security) was not recognized. I needed to provide missing digits of an old cell number that I disregarded one year ago. I did try to revert to an earlier system restore point. That did nothing. I will gladly pay for help. Abby

I have a firefox account and it normally syncs my bookmarks between my laptop at work and my machine at home.

All my bookmarks at work have disaapeared, but they are all still there.

I tried restoring my bookmarks at the work machine, and is shows as being able to restore 102 bookmarks but when i do this the bookmarks toolbar refreshes but no bookmarks appear.

Can anyone help?

A message showed up when I opened FireFox saying "your Mozzila is running slooow refresh your Mozzilla today. So I did the refresh. I now have lost bookmarks and settings. Also the sync I did with the program weeks ago no longer works AND WORST OF ALL You Added Add-Ons I DIDN'T Need or Want without even asking. So Now I have to spend a bunch of time getting it set up the way I liked It. Or maybe Not. Is definitely time to find a new BROWSER!

My places.sqlite file has places.sqlite.corrupt just under it in my second profile's folder. I tried renaming the corrupt file as just places.sqlite (calling the first places.sqlite something else) and restarting as suggested but the history still won't show up, and when I check the folder, places.sqlite is once again places.sqlite.corrupt (with a places.sqlite file just above it.)

Is there a way to somehow get Quantum to read my old history?
