In their info Google say the CSE (Client Side Encryption) isn't up to date and won't work. My About Firefox link tells me I am up to date.

Does anyone know what is going on here and how it can be fixed please?

Is there a setting to always show the translation icon in the Firefox desktop address bar?

1. Scenario

I'm visiting a website that is not in my native language. For example, I natively speak English, and the website contains Spanish text.

The Spanish website incorrectly sets lang="en" in the HTML. Here's an example: https://animalessinhogar.com.uy/

My browser's default language is set to US English. When Firefox sees the Spanish webpage declaring the lang="en" tag, it assumes the webpage is in English, and hides the translation icon from the address bar.

1. Issue

The end result is I see this website in Spanish, there's no translation icon in the address bar, and also no way to force a full page translation. The best I can do is select parts of the text, right click, and ask for "Translation Selection to English". This gets very tedious, especially when I have automatic translations for Spanish websites already turned on (browser.translations.alwaysTranslateLanguages = es).

1. Proposed solution

To work around these websites which mis-declare their language, is there a way to always show the translation icon in the address bar?

I had also thought of removing my browser's default language, so that the translation icon would always appear on every webpage. However, that would mean that websites that present different versions based on browser language wouldn't display my native language at first, or might not work at all? So this seems like a less good solution.

Hyperlinks keep opening in new windows, not in the same/existing window where they were selected. Issue is not unique to Google Search results and occurring across multiple websites. At wits end trying to figure this one out. I have deselected the "Open links in tabs instead of new windows", turned off all extensions, and uninstalled & reinstalled Firefox. Issue is still occurring. Attached is image of my tab selections showing all turned off.

Where can I download a fresh Firefox 115.33.0esr (64-bit) browser for Win-7 because the one I have installed is so corrupted and I can't seem to be able to fix it.

My name is Dr Tahmeena HazratyOmid. I use Firefox on my Android phone. Recently the browser became slow and YouTube videos do not play smoothly. I tried restarting the phone but the problem is still there. Please help me solve this problem.

I am encountering more and more websites with problems they attribute to Firefox. Many of them recommend using Chrome or Edge and some insist upon it or they will no longer support problems. Direct TV will no longer work with Firefox at all and they will not fix it. Several of my other regular websites will work partially, but have pages that simply will not work with Firefox. I have resisted using Chrome or Edge for years but it is getting harder and harder to do as on line systems continue to have problems with Firefox and their only suggestion is to use Chrome (which works when Firefox doesn't). When I play a video in fullscreen and type something, when I typed something in the IME and will press Esc to quit the IME, the whole fullscreen will be quitted. The expected behavior is to quit the IME only, and the fullscreen should be quitted only when there is no IMEs.

The issue has been existing for years.

The last 2 days when I have shut down my computer then restarted, my Firefox profile has disappeared, along with all my bookmarks, passwords etc. I spent several hours yesterday following all the advice here to get everything back, but nothing worked. I had to create a new profile and then import an old passwords file, which I luckily had saved in Excel. This morning when I switched the computer on, the same thing has happened. I cannot even open Firefox without creating a new profile. I get a pop up box (screenshot attached), which shows no profiles, and i have to create a new one to even open Firefox. Every time I close out of Firefox and want to go back in, I am asked to choose a profile. This has never happened before.Before i give up forever on Firefox and go over to another browser, do you have any ideas how i can stop this from happening, and get my original profile, passwords, bookmarks etc back? I reached out and was advised could be something wrong with the software however I believe I have the latest software as i just downloaded the browser today. I am also able to access the same site on my phone and my IPAD not sure why it wont work here.

This afternoon, I clicked on a link from an email and for the first time got a choose a profile pop-up. I do not want this; I have read info on Mozilla and elsewhere about its purpose but it doesn't say how to just stop the pop-up - there should be an option just stop the pop-up because I don;t want to have to choose amongst options. I have started copy-pasting the links in emails and going to Chrome and will seriously have to reconsider using Firefox of this continues. I don't want to have to type about:config or anything - this should have been an opt out or opt in thing and I want out. Thank you for your help.
