I have logged into a new device with Firefox account and am not certain where the bookmarks have been pulled from as they do not match those on my previous device where the account was set to sync.

Hello. Since I use the bookmark bar and fullscreen mode a lot, I would like to be able to see the bookmark bar in fullscreen, not on every tab, but only in a new (empty) tab, so that I can avoid disabling fullscreen to access the bookmark bar and at the same time not having any part of the interface visible unless I'm in a new tab. From a folder, I have loads of Firefox profiles from different eras. I am looking for a way to export all the bookmarks of each of the profiles to an HTML file like the manual method (Library > Import and backup > Export bookmarks to formal HTML), but all in an automatic way by script. I like the HTML export from Firefox because it allows you to quickly navigate using keywords, either in links or in the folder names I gave.

Is there a simple solution that would reuse, for example, the same export code as Firefox ?

Hi...

When I restart the browser, the bookmark bar is empty on startup and it also does not respond to anything. You can't use RMB on it and you can't drag a bookmark onto the toolbar.

I have tried 500 billion different thing with no luck - for instance:

• Refresh
• Reset toolbars to default
• Reinstall and complete deletion of profile etc.
• Diagnostic start with extensions disabled

...and probably a few hundred other things, but the problem reappears every time.

I'm using sync, so every time I've deleted/cleared etc., I log back in to sync and it syncs back bookmarks. Everything is great until I close the browser and restart it - then the bookmar toolbar is empty and unresponsive again.

The problem appeared recently - probably within the last 1-2 weeks.

Please help. :)

What happened to my "recently bookmarked" category? It has disappeared and when I save a book mark, no where to be found??? Clicking on "tags" shows empty as well.

Help me restore the generic "recently bookmarked" item again. Thank you.

I'm trying to restore my bookmarks from a .json backup file, but when I restore from it, all the bookmarks go into the Other Bookmarks folder. All the other folders are imported but are empty. I've tried the automatic backups and the same thing happens.

Obviously I don't want to have to drag and drop 2000 bookmarks back into their folders... how can I fix this?

Hi! My bookmarks are not syncing across my various devices. I tried:

• Signing out and in all devices.
• Delete my account and create a new one with the same email address.

But none of this solved the problem. Thanks

Hi! Ever since Quantum, I haven't paid much attention to Firefox (not much of a point, is there -_-). But today, I found myself using modern Firefox again and wanted to add a keyword search bookmark. Where has the "keyword" field gone from the "Add Bookmark" dialog? Is there a way to bring it back? I found nothing promising under about:config :(

All I see when googling is guides saying I should first add a bookmark, then go to the bookmarks panel, find and select my new bookmark, edit properties, and then I'll be allowed, by Firefox's grace, to add/edit keywords. This takes all of the convenience out of the process.

Does anyone maybe know an extension that can bring the field back?

I am a longtime user of Firefox. When I started with it, I was under the (apparently false) belief that the main bookmarks folder was "other bookmarks". Consequently, all of my important bookmarks are contained in this folder. I just bought a new computer from Dell, and I find that I can not import the Other Bookmarks folder into the new computer. What I would like to do is delete the contents of the Bookmarks folder, then transfer the contents of the Other Bookmarks folder into this. I know I can do this one by one, but it will take a LONG time. Is there any way to do this in bulk? Thanks.

This is a moan more than a question. About every six months or so my bookmark sidebar disappears because i have clicked Control and B without meaning to. And that is how to get it back again. Except, I never remember and search all over the page (View, Options etc) without finding how to get it back. So I eventually do a search for how to recover it and find all the archived guides from when other people had the same problem and the same question and ther same frustration. So my moan/quesion is this: why the blankety blank, doesn't Firefox add something into the menu (View or Options or somewhere) that says "Show toolbar permanently". Would save all this frsutration and irritation. The impression I get is that Mozilla thinks we should not want to have the menu on screen all the time. But that is the problem with users! We have our own way of doing things! Please!

Hi, I recently had to upgrade my Linux system and Firefox along with it. I am trying to find my bookmark properties or description or comment field with important information that is not kept anywhere else. I found a couple old questions that I thought might be related to this but again they are old:

So this is a new question as the others were locked. I tried doing what was listed in them to make a backup/export but looking at the html only shows the book mark and no other fields related to the them. The bookmark-notes add-on is 4 years old so I don't know if that would help me get my stored information. This is causing me lots of problems. Please advise.

Today after booting up my computer, I found that none of my bookmarks were appearing in the toolbar. They're still appearing in the bookmarks menu under "Bookmarks Toolbar," and "Bookmarks Toolbar Items" is still where it should be in the Customize screen. I also confirmed that the toolbar is still marked as "Always Show." In fact, other items (such as the main bookmark menu itself) still show up on the toolbar. It's only all my bookmarks that are missing.

I've also tried:

• Exiting and restarting Firefox
• Turning settings on and off (i.e., setting the toolbar to "Never Show" and then turning it back)
• Rebooting my computer

This problem has been reported over and over for over 3 years. Why should the solution be to turn off syncing?

In addition to preventing the problem from occurring, Firefox needs to provide a fix to eliminate duplicate bookmarks in bulk.

I want to drag a URL to a specific Bookmarks Folder I have (located in the extended bookmarks list (accessed by the double arrow at the far right) but every time I try, the extended list disappears when I try to carry the dragged URL onto it. I can't even select a bookmark in tehe extended list and drag it into a folder from there like I used to be able to do. Please help.

1. Why does Firefox create bookmark folders with just a date for a name?

2. Why does Firefox automatically save random bookmarks in these folders?

3 How do I get it to stop doing both?

I need to find out if there is a way to transfer just certain bookmarks to another computer without having to transfer the entire bookmark file. I do not need the entire bookmarks file, just certain bookmarks within the file.

Can this be done? (Without using Sync, if at all possible, please.)

Hi, I am trying to save my most important Bookmarks as Shortcuts in Firefox Homepage, but Firefox is not showing the icons of the shortcuts, instead it is showing as Letters of the site. Please refer the image that I have attached. Incase if the image in the attachment fails, use this link Do note that the icons in bookmarks bar are showing fine, but the problem is only in Homepage shortcuts.
