I can not remove the extension!

I have noticed for some time now that I have an extension in my Firefox extensions that has no name and keeps installing itself, even when I try to uninstall it through the Firefox folder. The extension causes that in my search suggestions when I enter something always other websites come to the surface, or the actually suggested by firefox sites slide down. Some yahoo and amazon sites come up on my search results.

Another photographer and I have found that when Firefox is running at the same time as Lightroom, the whole computer slows to a stop. Lightroom runs okay alongside other browsers. Firefox runs well at the same time as other editing software including DxO PhotoLab 6 and ON1 Photo Raw

I run Windows 10 with AMD A10 processor, 32 GB RAM

Hello, I am in a dreadful situation.

I needed to format my PC, changing OS from Windows 10 to Windows 11. I have backed up my Mozilla profile just in case, along with other things.

Long story short - my backup failed. I thought that shouldn't be that much of a problem, as there's Firefox Sync. After getting the new OS, logging in to Firefox Accounts, syncing... nothing. It synced with the current state (so brand new browser) and didn't import anything. Bookmarks or history, which are very important to me. Currently, I have no way of retrieving them.

Is there a way to get Firefox Sync to Sync with what was saved some time ago? Literally anything before February 1st will work for me. I am very dependent on my browsers, Chrome synced perfectly fine, Firefox didn't.

I cannot find any relevant information on this topic, is there any chance of getting help here?

After downloading the latest update this morning in desperation, Firefox crashed on first character of the primary password again and again and again. This time, started new tab, tried to type L into the address line and Firefox crashed AGAIN. Eventually, I have found that if I open a new tab and input a character into the address bar, I get one of three results. a) I input L and an L appears. If that happens, I can go on to use Firefox. b) I input L and get a totally random character appear. Could be S, or £ or $ or something else. In which case, I can't use Firefox. c) Firefox crashes.

Whoa, that sounds really severe. When this happens, is the Mozilla Crash Reporter dialog coming up? If so, you can share your crash reports with Mozilla Support volunteers for feedback on what might be causing that. See: https://support.mozilla.org/kb/firefox-crashes-asking-support

Yes, this is the 6th attempt to start Firefox and keep it going beyond the first keystroke input. I keep restarting till it works. I do not do anything else except restart, then try to input a keystroke. I can copy and paste and all is well till I hit enter or some other keystroke. It sucks and the Firefox team must be getting mad at the crash reports. Taking out all the plugins didn't help, and neither did restart in safe mode. I just keep getting the same problem.

I'm a writer who relies heavily on instant access to Dictionary by Merriam-Webster. I recently got a new laptop and the dictionary will not load. It eventually will load but in a truncated looking format that is not useful. It works fine if I use Microsoft Explorer. I have cleared my cache but it still will not load and I have no trouble with anything else. This is super inconvenient. Is there some setting for Dictionary I'm missing?

I signed in to my account on my desktop today just as I have for years. I was asked to verify it was me. You sent me a code. I could not figure out where I was supposed to enter that code. I saw no instructions where to type it in and I could not see any space to enter the code into. Now I am locked out. I have been on firefox for years. I am 76 years old now, a recent stroke victim, and this is very confusing to me. Can you make this simpler? Please explain where I need to type in the code you send and let me try again. Please reply. This is stressing me up. It all started today when I tried to add this account to a new iphone my kids got for me. I have only used android phones on my firefox account. I won't try to add firefox to the iphone again. iphones seem to be complicated enough as it is. I can use it on Microsoft I hope. but I still need firefox to continue working on my android desktop. Firefox has all my passwords for other apps stored on it. As well as the saved favorite websites I have placed on there over the years. Many, Many of them. I am used to having the firefox saved password function to quickly log me in to those applications . I urgently need the bookmarks from my old firefox account. I have the same email address but have forgotten the password to my old firefox account, I also don't have a recovery key.

Is there any way for me to recover those bookmarks without having them deleted by reseting the password??

I can't get a email with the code for this new 11 windows pc. Driving me nuts. I was trying to see and look to see if they block some companies to send a email. Not sure y u need the code anyways. We all know windows lies and hates any company like this one. They give enough warnings to the b s. Please try a email me with a code to get around this trash from windows. I can't figure this out. Making me mad. I only use this browser for tons of years. This code thing was a bad idea.

Every time I open this browser it opens to the size of a notepad. I want it to open to the full size of my desktop computer screen. I can not find an option to instruct the browser to do this. I also have to hit on the full size icon 2x in order to get it to increase.

I'm trying to sync on my new laptop running windows 11. Firefox says my password is not correct but it is. My desktop that I use most often is running windows 10(can't upgrade to 11). Help!

I recently changed to a 4G network based router because of poor internet speeds in the area.

Since changing I have noticed that when using my TP-Link AC1900 network adapter, I can no longer access www.google.com specifically. I can still access the site on Edge (using the adapter) and when I change from the adapter to the primary wifi card in the laptop, Google works again in Firefox.

Due to the things I've tried (listed below) I've come to believe that it must be some strange interaction between the adapter, firefox, and the network.

I've tried the following: - Deleting all cookies and data - Reset all preferences in Firefox - Disabling and re-enabling addons - Fresh install of Windows (including Firefox) - Reinstalling TP-Link Drivers - Changing DNS to Googles servers - Firefox network settings (no-proxy etc...) - Checking the firewall settings on Windows (disabling, allowing firefox.exe, etc...) - Restarting the router - Changed some of the DNS settings in about:config, but resetting after to be sure

I've looked around for pretty much every similar post, some people saying the issue resolved itself, but any solutions I've found so far haven't worked. This is beginning to become a bit frustrating as I mainly use Google to search :( Hopefully someone who's had a smilar issue can help me resolve it, thanks!

Firefox keeps pinning ads for random pages that I have never visited. It happens inconsistently, but sometimes when I open Firefox there will be a random ad page pinned. Even if I unpin it, and reopen Firefox the same ad page will be pinned again. I have tried looking it up in settings but could find anything, that make it pop up.

I installed Firefox a few years ago. Microsoft still makes updates and I cannot delete it. Most recently two features have been added that I am trying t delete. 1. Tabs (for lack of a better word) appear on the left side of the screen. There are suggestions for other search terms. I don't need help. 2. As I read through a list of items found in my search one item will popup on the right side, sometimes preventing me from reading my list. I have tried to change my Block setting. I would like them removed.

I don't know how to identify this problem. WHAT IT IS: for about 6 days now I have been getting a message from my PNCBank saying unable to connect, try another browser. Previously it has worked just fine. I have not changed any information and the same crredentials work flawlessly with Chrome.

After entering my userid and password, my bnak responds with:

This happens on many sites. How do I stop it?
