Hello everyone,

Is it possible to control Firefox 76 on Linux from D-bus ? I listed all available services with "qdbus" utility, but there is nothing like firefox/mozilla. Also, I browsed source code, and I saw D-bus support seems to be there. Thank you

I'm a software developer working on backend services, always juggling between Firefox and Chrome (because none of them fully satisfy my needs). What I need from them is to behave the way it will be most practical for me, which isn't necessarily aligned with the majority of users.

My current problem is this. I work with APIs which in my daily work often return various HTTP errors. These errors also contain a payload which describes the problem in detail. I want to be able to see this payload easily in the browser. Yes, I can use other tools like Postman for this (which I do), but for simple GET requests without special request headers it would be much more practical to just use a browser.

Currently, when my API opens an error (for example a 400 Bad Request), Firefox decides to just silently go back into the previous page (undos the URL change). If I open the Network tab in the Web Developer view, I can however see the failing response with all of its details. Still, this is too impractical for me.

BTW, the response contains a custom Content-Type which isn't recognized by Firefox by default. But Firefox isn't downloading the payload as a file (like it would usually do for a successful page load of an unknown Content-Type), it just silently doesn't do anything. I've installed an extension to handle my custom Content-Types (called "Open in Browser"), but since Firefox isn't attempting to open this one, I can't use it in this case.

So, how can I force Firefox to stay on that URL and show the response payload in the window? If not in vanilla Firefox, any plugins? I've already kind of spent too much time on this for my liking. :/

I've just switched to Firefox as Chrome keeps lagging. I'm running Fedora 31 and the latest version of Firefox 76.0.1.

When I use the 2 fingered scrolling and take my fingers off the touchpad, the page keeps scrolling until it slowly slows down and eventually stops or hits the end of the page. It doesn't then stop when I place my fingers back on the touchpad, so it just carries on regardless to another part of the page. It's ludicrous as it just goes past whatever I'm trying to look at! If I keep my fingers on the touchpad it stays put but as soon as I take them off, it's off on it's jollies again.

Is there anyway to disable this? I've unchecked smooth scrolling and autoscrolling. I've never had Firefox behave like this before on any Linux distro.

Hello, I want to download some content from Spotify (free) in Firefox. What maybe couldhelp is the fact that I could eliminate any commercial breaks, but I actually dont know how. Sometimes Spotify wants to start some adds but after a few seconds the audiobook or whatever keeps on running. Does Spotify in some way "respect" my adblocke (ublocker origin, noScript,Private badgerr?) The idea now is,van I also download Content from spotify with anyozillaa addon. I already tried reinstalling clearing cache deleting my profile again, it doesnt work.

I think its the addon server that serves in philippine IP because when i used a proxy to singapore website works and my account syncs again, it works perfectly as intended.

I used to use Theme & Font Size Changer and was able to change the fonts to large and bold so I could read them. Now it doesn't work because of Firefox "upgrades". There really should be an easier way to change fonts, both sizes and colors, because not everyone is 20 years old with great eyesight. Is there a fairly easy way to do this? I'll even take a not-so-easy way if it works.

BTW, I've used "Firefox Colors" and it does make it a bit easier, but I really need to be able to increase the size of the text AND bold it.

The original built in password manager that Firefox had has changed again. It originally changed late last year. Then i returned to the previous password manager by following instructions in this link:

However this solution no longer works. How can i get back to the previous password manager, when it was displayed in a row of columns headed 'Site' 'Username' 'Password' 'Last Changed.' Now once again it is just one long column.

I would like to know if there are any plans to support the new web vital Google metric "Largest Contentful Paint" on Firefox? As mentioned on https://caniuse.com/#search=largestcontentfulpaint it is not supported today, but it seems to become a standard to measure user experience on websites, already adopted by many different tools.

I'm not happy that I lost my original FireFox account and I have NO forseeable way of reclaiming it. Firefox is way too much obfuscation of simple and direct information. I lost all that I saved within my original account.

why can't I connect to Netflix Canada, and don't give me any BS about it not being secure and why can't I phone or chat with Mozilla customer support like real company

My websites which used to load in the past no longer load. Examples: www.buffynjohn.com, www.writeabookforfun.com, www.vernonadvocate.com. Get error message "Blocked by X-Frame-Options Policy"
