I uninstalled FF23 due to KIS' incompatibility issues, and have now upgraded to KIS 2014. Are there any indications Kaspersky has resolved the issues before I reinstall FF?

I did enquire of Kaspersky regarding this issue. They replied that a patch was forthcoming. When, they could not say. Disappointing , seeing that Firefox is the top rated browser.

You may well do better forgoing the use of the minor features, waiting for their promised patch B and meanwhile updating to a secure Firefox 23.0.1 . As a Kaspersky user you will be security aware and should realise even using Kaspersky may not fully protect you if you use an insecure and unsupported old version of Firefox.

I note the Kaspersky thread linked to above contains these comments

    • The add-ons/plugins are just fluff for added convenience. See following topic/posts
With only a little bit of a minor inconvenience on two features; the rest are still running.

    • First of all a customer can ask a browser developers why do they release a new version without any visible changes monthly... E.g. why did Mozilla release 19 versions during 2 years? But, unfortunately there are some more critical bugs than add-ons compatibility in our programs. I guess it'll be more unpleasantly for anyone if his application isn't updated... Or if it takes a lot of CPU resources... Or it crashes because of incorrect MS update released... Anyway add-ons are compatible with the latest versions of IE that is installed on each PC, and a customer can use it while new patch is tested.

Anyway, do you want to get an untested patch for our application? Anti-virus is a complicated application that cooperates with your OS. If some untested functions will work improperly you can loose your OS at all. That is a reason why we take more time to qualitatively test each patch for each product. We'll never release a new patch monthly, as browser developers do, because we care about our customers' OSs and devices.

Thanks a lot for your opinion but just think what do you want more: untested patch and broken OS right now or qualitative and safe patch after a month? I suppose you prefer the second option.

Why not ask that question on the Kaspersky forum to see what their opinion is. Or consider using some other fully updated browser until Kaspersky ancillary plugins work with Firefox 23.
