Pages and icons (in the tabs and navigation bars) are too big due to 22 upgrade
Due to FF22 upgrade (from 21), all my icons (from webpages, addons and regular buttons) and tabs have got bigger and that's really ugly because of the low resolution of the images. Also considering I have a rather big number of tabs I can just see a smaller number of them and it's annoying. The zoom of the page is now bigger (given that I has already zoom in in version 21, now the pages are too big and I have to zoom out a page that was correctly zoomed in 21) Surprisingly the menu bar is intact !
Is that a new graphic convention ? Is there an update of something like GTK+ in this new version that could be responsible of this bug ? And mainly is there anyway to fix it ?
My screen resolution is 1920*1080. And for example with chromium or FF21 the menu have the perfect size.

hello, firefox 22 is now respecting the pixel density you've set on a system level in the windows control panel > appearance > display. more information about that is availbale at http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/make-the-text-on-your-screen-larger-or-smaller
if you want to set the text size/pixel density in firefox different from that of your system's settings like it was handled in prior versions, enter about:config into the firefox address bar (confirm the info message in case it shows up) & search for the preference named layout.css.devPixelsPerPx. double-click it and change its value to 1.0 (or any other zoom factor that fits your purpose; -1.0 is the default value and will adhere to the system settings).

I installed NoSquint add-on. I changed the global zoom to adjust at 5% increments, and it works great. Very easy
I had to use the about:config change plus *two* add-ons to get "kinda sorta" back to what I had until FF 22 made the "surprise, surprise!" unwelcome, *no-advance warning* changes people are writing about here: No-Squint (which adjusts web pages only) and Theme Font & Size Changer (which adjusts menu fonts and other menu elements only -- the about:config parameter wasn't fine-tunable enough to handle that task adequately).
Going through those hoops for a semi-solution to something FF broke for us isn't acceptable, so I went back to 21 and am trying to customize IE more to my needs.
And a word of caution with No-Squint: If you remove it, the zoom-level preferences that FF had automatically saved for pages you'd previously visited and zoomed will be GONE. Fortunately I had a profile back-up to get them back (although the need to re-zoom page-by-page would not have been as annoying as FF breaking itself in v 22).
This all seems like a classic case of programming to impress other programmers instead of Mr. Joe / Ms. Jane average user. (I even saw a comment in Bugzilla to the effect of "people don't like change" which came off as sounding sort of condescending to the average user, whether or not that was the intention,)

I took the plunge and set layout.css.devPixelsPerPx to 1.0, which did make pages display at native 100% but made the GUI small. I then installed the Theme Font & Size Changer add-on and set the Size to 16. This combination seems to provide the same experience as FF 21 and I guess it's the best solution available. It's not hard, but I hope the settings stick through updates.
I still use Default Zoom Level set to 110%, and to remember site-specific zoom so Google Maps and photo blogs display at true 100% with no blur (just as in FF 21).
Just using a zoom level add-on without changing layout.css.devPixelsPerPx to 1.0 means that there is no way to get exactly 100% zoom unless 1 divided by your system DPI can by entered exactly in decimal format.
e.g.: 1/125 = 0.008 ==> 80% zoom = 100% actual size
but 1/150 = 0.666666... ==> 67% != 100% actual size
Please correct me if I'm wrong here.
