Download FF14 and install. All goes well. Start FF and it opens and runs Then Windows opens with message "FF has stopped working, Windows is looking for a solution........" Then "FF has stopped working, Windows will close the programme and will notify you if a solution is found."

Laptop is Toshiba running Windows 7 SP1 32 bit version

None of the solutions given at this link location work because I get the error message before I can get into FF and W7 kills the programme before I can do anything.

Even happens in safe mode!

Tried installing with Security and Firewall turned off, just the same, so no conflict there. What is really odd is that FF14 installed fine on the four XP computers (with similar set ups) but not on this one with W7.

Have now abandoned using FF on this machie and will use Chrome instead.

If you get startup crashes you have little option but to do a clean re-install of Firefox.

Delete the Firefox program files and folders but not at this stage the Firefox profile. Make a backup copy of the profile and keep it safe somewhere outside the Firefox paths (use the the Windows 7 desktop location for instance).

When you try to start Firefox try safemode if you are having problems, and then also try the reset option (that clears some of the profile information, but retains bookmarks and passwords.)

If you still get crashes, then the Crash IDs are needed. If you read the article linked in my last post you should still be able to obtain crash IDs even if Firefox is not starting.
