I submitted my feedback ages ago, without any response to date. They do not give a sh*t :/

I went to add or remove programs in Control Panel,and found what was called FreeMind. I removed it and the text enhance stopped.

This is bullshit! How do I get rid of this pest. I tried the "opt out" that is a sham and does nothing at all, but waste my time. I follow the directions and it says I am still signed up to get this garbage. Now I have a coupon pop up. I think Firefox needs to figure out what its priorities are. Until then I will use Chrome, Wyzo, or Opera. I know these bastards hijacked some legit plug in. Find it and remove it. You had a beat I loved, but then loaded it down with junk. Had you stuck with that I would not be having any problems at all. Nor would Firefox.

Satchmoeddie - It's not just Firefox; I've had it install on Chrome as well. Read through ths entire thread and you should find a solution.

Adblock Plus 2.0.3. worked for me with Mozilla browsing!!!

TextEnhance has been irritating me for a few months now and I have no idea where it came from ... but I've found a solution that worked for me. To get rid of it you need to act as if you're signing up as an 'advertiser' ... click http://text-enhance.com/advertiser_signup.php then, at the bottom right hand side of the page, in very faint grey lettering, is a small menu. The last item on this menu is 'OPT-OUT' which you need to click. You then have to enter a couple of words from 'ReCAPTCHA' to verify your action. Please note though, in small print when you opt-out is the quote "* This will set an opt-out cookie on your system to prevent you from seeing Text Enhance links. If you clear your cookies, the links will appear again and you will have to come back to this site and opt-out again."

Even if you don't clear your cookies, or you turn off auto-clear, the advertisements reappear.

DO NOT OPT OUT

That will cause more spam, it is not a solution.

People have gotten it through extensions or toolbars. I removed the "WxFast" extension and got rid of it, though judging by the amount of responses I've found, it could be pretty much anything. I would suggest just looking through your extensions and toolbars(Tools -> Add-ons) and remove anything you don't remember giving permission for, find suspicious or simply don't want. Also look through the installed programs on your computer, just to be safe.

I heard somebody mention 'Codec-C', which I downloaded to be able to watch movies on certain sites. And, it makes sense, Text Enhance seemed to pop-up out of nowhere around the same time.

Codec-C is definitely one culprit.

OMG I have been pulling my hair out for months trying to get rid of this Text Annoying thingy. Removing the Codec C in add-on's in FireFox worked like a champ. In fact I couldn't be-leave it at first and had to search dozens of pages to see first before replying, lol. And not a single word has that stupid highlight for it. Happy Happy Joy Joy. Has on one come up with a solution for websites - my e-rcps.com is plagued with text-enhanced ads.

Also note: Your website is not infected, your internet browser is.
