Firefox freezes for me, every few mintues.
Every few minutes, Firefox (version 6.0.1) freezes. I get the swirling circle for a couple mins, and then it goes back to normal for a little while. I've tried updating my plug-ins. Updating Firefox. I tried starting Firefox without add-ons. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it. Nothing has helped so far, except for using IE instead. Which I don't want to do. I checked my task manager to see if I was running anything that has a lot of usage (Firefox is using like... 600,000k) there's nothing unusual there either. I'm at a loss on what else to do, other than change browsers.

Problem occurs when checking updates for HTTPS Everywhere addon. Try this:

Not sure I understand what you mean by "HTTPS Everywhere addon". I have no such addon installed. I am hesitant to delete certificates without some additional information.
Regards.
I saw the update for 6.0.2 pop up, I thought maybe that would fix the problem. It hasn't though, I'm getting really really annoyed and am just about ready to just stop using Firefox. I also don't have any "Everywhere addon".
Hello? There are 30 people now with this same problem. Does anyone on the Firefox staff have a clue?
Yeah, well, I solved it. I switched over to Google Chrome. I suggest the other 34 people do the same.
Problem solved (for me) - see Question 862445.
Delete places.sqlite from the profiles folder.
hi i cannot seem to find the profile folder and this file.
i am on windows 7 64
i am about to abandon FF for chrome really fast. this issue is driving me mad
Don't bother with the fix, it lasted all of maybe two days and then started freezing again.
Thanks, Jazaray
Probably switch over to Google Chrome is a solution but I don't like it. It started somewhere between Firefox 3.6 (which never froze such way) and Firefox 6.0. Firefox 11 still have this much annoying problem. Probably I will try to find some old Firefox but I'm afraid I'll run into problems with add-ons...
