I have separate bookmarks on my laptop and desktop, will doing a sync with my laptop delete bookmarks that I have on there?
I have some different bookmarks on my laptop that I want to sync in as well. The desktop has bookmarks that i don't have on my laptop, and my laptop has bookmarks that i don't have on my desktop. Is there a way to sync only certain bookmarks?

No, detailed control of data not yet part of sync.
Sync will, however, merge your the bookmarks from both machines. So you'll essentially have a matching set on both.
