I just recently downloaded the extension download helper, but when i try to install/update converter nothing happens. i can click forever and NOTHING appears.

I have the same problem but a little different. My DownloadHelper add-on worked fine until Firefox automatically updated to 3.5.10. I currently run Firefox 4 Beta 1 and Firefox 3.5.10 and neither of them will allow me to use DownloadHelper with the DownloadHelper logo near the address bar where it used to be. I think maybe DownloadHelper may not support 3.5.10? What do you think?
