I am trying to change my default search engine to Firefox and it isn't allowing me. What could be preventing this? and how do I get around it? Thank you in advance for your help.

Firefox is a web browser and not a search engine. Mozilla the makers of the Firefox web browsers does not have a search engine of their own. A search engine is for example qwant.com duckduckgo.com google.com bing.com etc.
