I have been with Firefox for years as default browser but recently been having probs. It wont open from Start or my taskbar. Keeps going to New tab at top of screen. Tried reinstalling but still the same. What has happened?

Are you using Windows, which version. Windows keeps memories of your setup. To get rid of that you must use the [Restart] option in the power menu not the [Shut Down]

So you could try that to see if Windows has that issue.
