What's going on with my FireFox screen. How did I find myself in India? (based on "pocket news") Where's my window for searches?

When I logged in this morning my FireFox screen had changed. The window for searches had disappeared and the "pocket" selections were all about India and its events. None of the previous options were there. What happened and how do I get back to where things were?

Hi Robert,

Could you please clarify what the "window for searches" is?

Also, did you have stories ("pocket selections") before at all?

Denys, thanks for following my problem. question 1 about window for searches It's the search bar about 1/3 of the way down the screen. For me it has disappeared though on my wife's computer it still exists. Question 2 Yes I had pocket selections before. Now it just seems to be called stories. Previously the were sections on recent news, various sports such as NFL and MLB, Tech, movies, etc. I could remove those I wasn't interested in. I found some of the article good and some just wanted me to subscribe.

I do still have my shortcuts to mail, weather, etc

Denys Just realized that my preferred search engine DuckGoDuck, which was reflected in the search window has been replaced by google search in the address bar.

Thank you for clarifying! To better understand what's going on, we'd appreciate some more non-personal information from you. Please do the following:

  1. Use one of these methods to open the Firefox Troubleshooting Information page:
    • Click the menu button Fx89menuButton, click on Help and select More troubleshooting information.
    • Type about:support into the Firefox address bar and press Enter.
  2. At the top of the Troubleshooting Information page that comes up, you should see a button that says '"Copy raw data clipboard'". Click it.
  3. Now, go back to your question, click Edit this question under Question Tools. Scroll down to the Troubleshooting Information field, paste the copied data there and click Save Question.

If you need further information about the Troubleshooting information page, please read the article Use the Troubleshooting Information page to help fix Firefox issues.

Thanks in advance for your help!
