I guess the question is about unwanted push notifications. Please read Web Push notifications in Firefox and disable it.

I'm about to remove Firefox from my laptop due to unwanted popups from an explicit and aggressive site called chaturbate. I installed Firefox because I was told it's a more secure browser. I'm seriously questioning my decision now. Does anyone have any suggestions to stop this from happening and to avoid any new events from occurring?

If these are small popups on bottom right corner then they are web push notifications from sites you have allowed to send you notifications. instead of useful infrmation some may send you junk, spam, fake virus/trojan alerts. You can revoke these sites as shown in article link in previous reply above.

If these are popups as new tabs then they are from the site(s) you are viewing.

Neither Mozilla nor the Firefox web browser would ever send you such popups.
