The way to download themes inside Thunderbird is as unintuitive as it can be. There should be a download link on the Themes page. Why would someone think to look under Recommendations? The Extensions page has a download link on it, why not Themes?
Extensions and Themes have the same lookup and download capabilities at both Tool > Add-ons and https://addons.thunderbird.net/
