Tabs reopening after closing Firefox

After I close Firefox all the same tags reopen when i launch firefox, even if I have closed that tabs previously. How do i stop this happening?

Go to your settings, type in "startup" into the search box, then uncheck the "open previous windows and tabs" setting.

I have the same problem. When I close Firefox the last tab opens again when I go to FIrefox again. I end up with multiple tabs open even though I only asked to go to one. I followed the solution above but the "open previous windows and tabs" setting is already unchecked. In fact, all the check boxes are unchecked.
