Where did my extentions go?

I can see and manipulate my extensions in the little puzzle piece in my toolbar but when I go into settings all my extensions are gone, replaced by an extension I did not authorize. I was having difficulty with a pop-up on a news site that wanted me to turn off my add blocker or buy a subscription. When I go into the add browser and turn it off the website does not recognize that I have do this and keeps me from getting behind their pay wall. So I thought I would go into the settings and temporarily turn off the extension from there and that is when I discovered the lack of extensions in my settings. The add on is AdBlocker Ultimate and the website is RawStory.com
