restart in safe mode
Can someone explain the specific difference between restarting in safe mode and refresh Firefox? I had a very bad experience some years ago I believe refreshing Firefox? But may have been a different Firefox procedure that caused all my trouble when I executed the procedure. Thank you.

Restarting in troubleshoot mode is just that. Once you have finished with that mode, you can restart again in normal mode. Refresh wipes data from your profile and, according to reports I have seen, has unforeseen consequences. I wouldn't accept the article on that subject (second link below) as gospel.
