Web camera worked til I downloaded FIrefox latest update-now it doesn't. I need it NOW. I need file papers with agency. It's Xtreme 720 Model XCA2-1007-BLK.
I downloaded the latest Firefox updates this morning. Now my web cam (this to me is a plug in camera that I can move around will not work. I need this camera Now. I have to get some papers filed . Before anyone says anything about my terminology, I do not know and am too old to learn computer technology- I mean age,not attitude. Also I can't figure out how to turn the flash off; there is a little cut in slot to the left of the flashbulbs, does anyone know what this is; and is there an on/off on this camera. Haven't been able to find instructions for it. the slot is the only area I can see that may control something on the camera but I can't see anything that will move in the slot. appreciate anything anyone can tell me. Microsoft Help came up (automated) and when thru a number of tries to fix it and couldn't. I think it was the Firefox update that did it but do not know why or what to check to correct. I went thru all my settings.

Here are some things you can try to fix the issue of your web camera not working after updating Firefox: 1)Check that your camera is connected and turned on: Make sure that your camera is properly connected to your computer and that it is turned on.
2)Check your privacy settings: Firefox's privacy settings may block access to your camera. To check your settings, follow these steps: i)Click the Menu button (the three horizontal lines in the top-right corner of the window) and click "Options." ii)Click "Privacy & Security" on the left side of the window. iii)Scroll down to the "Permissions" section and click the "Settings" button next to "Camera." iv)Make sure that the "Ask to allow" option is selected for "Use the camera." v)If the "Block new requests asking to access your camera" option is selected, you'll need to uncheck it to allow access to your camera.
3)Reset Firefox: If none of the above steps help, you can try resetting Firefox to its default state. This will reset your settings and remove any extensions, themes, or other customizations you've made.
4)Check for updates to your camera driver: If you've recently updated Firefox, your camera driver may also be out of date. Try updating the driver for your camera to see if that resolves the issue.
I hope the above suggestions would be of help :)
As for turning off the flash on your camera, you'll need to check the manual or documentation that came with your camera. The slot you mentioned may be a switch or button that controls the flash, or it may be a different feature entirely. Without more information about your camera, it's difficult to say for sure what the slot is for.
When I bring up the camera to take photo's now I have a picture of a camera (computer installed camera) and a picture of my web cam is back on the right f the camera screen. But the web cam has a 3/4 circle around the bottom of the web cam with an arrow on one end. When i aim the c camera, it shows the picture that I want to take but when I take the picture, it's comes out all black and the screen goes back to the computer camera instead of staying on web cam. when I click on the picture I just took, computer says I haven't taken any new pictures.
I finally figured out how to adjust the flash. Could find no manuals for this older camera on line
I tried to take a screen shot of the camera when it's up on the computer but I think all it took was a picture of the picture waiting to be taken by my camera. Don't know how to find it and transfer it to here. I've looked thru the files.
