If you block my add-ons without notification or my permission I will block your browser permanently. FTD was the heartbeat of my internet experience, you may give me the security choice and I will decide but not you. After too many hours of setting up and keeping current you instantly wipe it out, obviously you don't care and we will not put up with your Suckerberg attitude. My many followers are already aware of what you did and now I'm overflooded with response. Fuckoff Firefox............

Hello,

I am sorry to hear that you are having issues. By the text of your message, I understand your anger and that you know that it was disabled because of security concerns.

If I what came up when I searched FTD is what you want (please note, this one is not checked by Mozilla), https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/duplicate_tab is available. It has a github link, so you can audit the addon.

There are about:config settings about blocked addons, but I do not know if they can turn off the check.

Hi

In 2020, we became aware that the developer of the FVD add-on had begun intercepting search queries that were being sent to a third-party search provider, in clear violation of the Mozilla Add-ons Policies. After a repeated violation we again explicitly told them under which circumstances this type of data collection is not acceptable. At the time, the developer disabled the feature, and we continued to host FVD Speed Dial.

Recently we have become aware that the developer has re-enabled the offending functionality, which remains in violation of AMO policy. In light of these repeated offenses, we have blocked this addon. While we regret the impact that this has had on some of our users, we believe that our commitments to user safety and the importance of user trust in Firefox and its surrounding ecosystem have obligated us to take this action, and we stand by this decision.

I can understand your concern for security, that is not my complaint. I am upset with the way you handled the matter by not giving me any warning there was a problem and then cutting everyone's throat as if we don't matter at all. Bad acting on your part and I'm pretty much done with you. Looking now to see what direction I will go in for a browser. Such a damn shame you ruined Firefox by playing God without concern for users.

Hi,

This will sound very generic (because most of it is), but I think it is important to make sure you know. So although you are not directly angry at us, it can come off that way. For the record, I dislike many of the decisions that the powers that be have been making recently. I believe that the best option for this would be instead of forcing it off for everyone, have a hidden setting that allows Firefox to disable the addon automatically and prompt the user so that they can have temporary access.

However, what is below is important to note.

The people who answer questions here, for the most part, are other users volunteering their time (like me), not Mozilla employees or Firefox developers. If you want to leave feedback for Firefox developers, you can go to the Firefox Help menu and select Submit Feedback... or use this link. Your feedback gets collected by a team of people who read it and gather data about the most common issues.

You can also file a bug report or feature request. See File a bug report or feature request for Mozilla products for details.
