Firefox download does not complete
Have new HP AIO. Came with Chrome. First thing I did was delete Chrome. Went to Firefox. I love Firefox. Attempted to download. Blue status bar never completes. Checked in MS settings to allow all apps. Firefox button opens an empty browser window. Nothing works here. Thank You/Mike Owens

Hi Mike, I'm not sure about the combination of the download not completing, but also having a button to start Firefox. So here are two suggestions:
Installation. In case this is a problem with the "Stub" installer, could you download a full installer as described in the following article: Custom installation of Firefox on Windows. Does that work any better?
Blank Browser Window. Do you recall seeing any errors related to a missing VCRUNTIME140_1.DLL file? It can cripple Firefox if a different program installer messes with this shared file. To rule that out, you can run Microsoft's installer for the VC Runtime files:
(B) In the first section of the article -- "Visual Studio 2015, 2017 and 2019" -- download the 64-bit installer.
(C) Run that installer and restart Windows.
Go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web Link} (There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for a download manager.
This download manager works separately from the browser.
The browser tells it what to download, and off it goes.
http://www.freedownloadmanager.org It is a powerful modern download accelerator and organizer for Windows and Mac.
Thank you FredMcD for posting your reply to my question. I looked where you suggested. Nothing seemed to help me there. I will continue my efforts to get Firefox downloaded. I turned off antivirus and tried again. Same result. Just not sure what is going on. Thanks anyway. Mike Owens
Thank you jscher2000 for your reply to my posting. I tried the custom installation of Firefox on Windows. Unfortunately the same result. The app fails to complete the download. Not sure how large the Firefox app is but I do download 392 MB. Just guessing this is way to small.
Have not tried your second recommendation. Kind of scares me but will give it a try. Really don't want to end up in the MS Edge world.

The Firefox installer for 64-bit Windows, U.S. English, is only 53 megabytes. The size is shown on this server:

Idea 1:
Start your Computer in safe mode with network support. Then start Firefox. Try Secure websites. Is the problem still there?

As a test, disable your protection programs.

Again Thank You both (FredMcD and jscher2000) for your assistance. You helped me solve my problem. I followed up one of your suggestions which was Firefox Setup 92.0.1exe 53M 22-Sep-2021 23:19. This executable loaded the Browser without a problem.
If this summary might help anyone else let me do a quick summary. I have a new HP AIO. In addition to Windows 10 there is also loaded a free 30 day Microsoft 365 version running. Have no interest but it came loaded by BestBuy. Could this be causing me my loading issue when I attempted to use Edge to get to Firefox loading page. This was when I was unable to complete the download. Someone smarter then me might make some sense of this.
The other item was the HP came loaded with Chrome which I uninstalled as soon as I opened my computer.
For whatever reason the above executable worked and the one on the Mozilla site did not.
Thanks again for my help. I do love Mozilla and Firefox. Mike Owens
