Upgrading from firefox 42 to the current version
I'm trying to migrate my Firefox from a very old 42.0 version (where I was stuck due to valuable plugins discontinuity) to some actual version (Mac OS). Attempt to just install the latest version doesn't work because it cannot properly convert stored passwords and the places database.
From the support article https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/lockwise-losing-login-information-firefox-update, I know that for passwords I should at least visit the intermediate version 68, which should be able to convert older passwords database.
What other upgrade points should I visit to successfully overcome the gap?

Thanks, using a self-update feature I've got to the latest version in three steps: 42.0 → 56.0 -> 72.0.2 -> 88.0.1
Glad to help. Safe Surfing.
