I know how to get rid of the title words and only have icons on the Bookmarks toolbar. But there used to be a way to have the title words (not the URLs) display when I hover over the icons. That function seems to be missing. How can I restore it? Thanks.

When you hover, Firefox should show the name of the bookmark, but maybe you deleted that text?

Firefox doesn't have a built-in way to hide bookmark names. Before Firefox 57, extensions were allowed to modify the Bookmarks Toolbar but since then, they can't. In order to hide the text, you need to delve into the world of userChrome.css style rules to modify the display of the toolbars. I don't know whether you are already doing that or this is a completely new idea.

Yes, I deleted the text so I had room to display more icons on the Bookmark toolbar. Otherwise, the text as well as the icon appears in the toolbar. I only want to see the icon, but wish I could hover to display the name. An extension called Roomy Bookmarks used to allow me to hover over the icon and see the name of the bookmark. Thanks for your response.
