Perform a System File Check to fix corrupted system files

Win 7, 8, 10, Vista: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929833 Win XP: https://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/system_file_checker.mspx?mfr=true

Hi Fred, Ran the System File Check and it found some corrupted files and it fixed them.

Maybe that was the problem ?

Hi Fred, It crashed again this morning as FF was shut down when I started my computer up this morning. Unfortunately the crash data says "Failed" when I try to download it ? That happens quite often so the crash reports I send you are only the ones that download ?

Frustrating ... wonder if Chrome or Edge would be a fix ?

In the address bar, type about:crashes<enter>. Note: If any reports do not have BP- in front of the numbers/letters, click it to submit them.

The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.

Using your mouse, mark the most recent 7 - 10 Submitted crash reports, and copy them. Now go to the reply box and paste them in.

Please, Do not post a screenshot ! !

Thanks Fred but that is how I have been doing all of my earlier crash reports. Currently there 3 crashes:

Unsubmitted Crash Reports

Report ID Date Crashed feb6aa60-055c-46b0-855b-a48908797648 2021-01-31, 7:29 a.m. 6b90e755-bf33-4bb2-bccd-85ed8540cbe4 2020-12-17, 12:11 p.m. 9b76568a-c5ad-4ebe-a347-2f2ec9721acf 2020-11-24, 6:27 a.m.

All of the above crash reports will not submit as when I say Submit All or do them individually they come back with Failed.

Hi Fred, Maybe you misunderstood my last post .... I HAVE TRIED to submit the above 3 crash reports (as they do not have BP- in front of them) but when I try to SUBMIT them it says FAILED !

I have attached a picture of the FAILED crash reports from about:crashes

I see. Sometimes the browser thinks the report is not important.

About Throttling

You're seeing this page because the crash report you selected was held back from submission. For statistical purposes, we don't need every crash report and sometimes we decline the submission of a crash report as a form of throttling.

Bug 1662317 About Throttling

Actual results:

I tried to manually send the report, and the system gave me the message: About Throttling

Expected results:

If Mozilla does not need the report, I, the user, still want to know what happened. How else can I fix or understand what went wrong?

Let me know if you see anything that makes sense of this constant crashing of FireFox
