cut and paste with right mouse click in discord web app pastes text twice.
When I cut and paste text into the chat edit window in the discord website app, the text I am pasting appears twice. This started happening within the last month. I am using Firefox 78.0.1. This does not happen in chromium, for example, nor in pasting info to other applications. I am running the latest Linux Mint OS as well.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?
I wonder if Firefox does that if the keyboard commands for Cut & Paste are used?
I don't use Discourse, and have had similar happen on other websites most notably YouTube comments recently and that is with KBD commands and the Context Menu (right-click menu) are no better. When I 'edit' a posting @YT I can't rearrange what I had posted, I have to to is outside of Firefox in a text program and then replace the entire original posting to reorder what I had initially posted.
iirc, that started with me before a month ago, more like 2 or 3 months ago @YT
And with Reddit fora, I have gotten that duplication with both KBD and Context Menu; and about the same time span, but mentally attributed that to their redesigned User Interface. Using the '/old/ UI which is still an option, I don't have that issue, or nearly as bad for sure.
And I am on Win7 32-bit .....

Yes, the problem still exists in safe mode.
Start your Computer in safe mode with network support.
Then start Firefox.
Try Secure websites. Is the problem still there?

This problem exists ONLY in firefox on the discord.com web page edit box when in a channel on discord. It doesn't matter whether in safe mode or not. Note I am on Linux Mint, not Windows. Cutting and pasting in a terminal window has no problems. Cutting and pasting in a chromium browser has no problems. There is something funky between discord and firefox.

Copy and Paste works fine in discord with me on Windows 10, Firefox 78.0.1. I don't have a Linux machine to test on.
How did you install Firefox on Linux? Did you use the Firefox from mozilla.org or did you use Mint's package manager?

Linux Mint package manager apt / install iso. I haven't tried re-installing.

Okay. Deleted installed firefox. Reinstalled with apt. Also then downloaded tar.bz2 file from mozilla.org and unloaded it over the existing /usr/lib/firefox. Same result. Still pasting twice upon a single right mouse click. Very odd and annoying.
