Thunderbird receives fine but can't connect to Gmail to send

I've been using Thunderbird with Gmail for a few months without issues. In the last week or so it fails to send with the message that it timed out trying to connect to smtp.gmail.com; it receives just fine (using IMAP). I'm using OAuth2, SSL/TLS, port 465 and smtp.gmail.com. I've also tried StartTLS and port 587 with the same results. This was working fine for months and only started screwing up in the last week+-.

Ideas?
