</p><p>I, like you, would assume that you would not have received malware from Etsy itself, however if you're not running an ad-blocking type of extension you could have gotten malware maliciously through an ad which Etsy itself has a lower amount of control over concerning its content.
If when you were told to restart your browser it looked <a href="https://i.stack.imgur.com/3RzaB.png" rel="nofollow">like this one</a> then it was probably legit and you killing firefox just caused some code mismatches which threw some errors somewhere, giving you the issue you experienced.
