The "Ask to save logins and passwords for websites" box becomes unchecked every time firefox is closed, how can you save this setting?
My operating system is windows 10 pro and my Firefox browser is up to date. My system is about 2 years old, and there have been no changes in the operating system, aside from necessary updates, since I first set it up.
Every time I close Firefox, the "Ask to save logins and passwords for websites" box becomes unchecked. When it is unchecked, all of my saved login information is unavailable. So, I must recheck the box every single time I open Firefox. This could be multiple times per day since I am prefer to close windows I'm not using, especially when running Matlab scripts. It's been happening for several months now, and it's really annoying.

Stab in the dark, but could it be that the Trend Micro Password Manager is installed on your system ?
If so : that could be causing this problem, and (unless you're using this software) you could remove it from Windows Control Panel.

It seems that the password manager activates and changes some settings even if you've never opened it or used it.
I'm glad you found the culprit and got things back to normal - well done !
