I'm new here, sorry. I thought, it's the same. What i want to do is simple: just to get a new PROFILE in FF with a new Email (like we do in Chrome) . Merci

You have nothing to apologize for  ! If anyone should apologize, it would be me, as I failed to understand what you were trying to say .....

I have forwarded a link to this thread to a Sync developer (fingers crossed that he's not on vacation).

If you don't hear anything within a reasonable amount of time, please let me know and I will contact someone else.

About those two usernames you are using on this support site; it's rather confusing - I will forward this thread to an administrator as well, to see what can be done about it.

I'll try to use only one. I think, the most important was to deliver the message about the issue.

There is a way that you could close the account that you no longer wish to use, but that would change your display name here to something like "user123456789" - the administrator I contacted about this will probably be able to fix this in a more "elegant way".

Don't you worry about it; no matter which account you use : I know it's you .....

I would not like to close any of my accounts as in the future I can use to declare different problems, if any. I'll try to use only this one for this problem. Merci

I think I know what you mean - you'd like to be able to report "problem A" with "account X" and "problem B" with "account Y" But you don't have to - you can simply start more than one thread and post different questions, using just one account (just like everybody else).

But for now : you just do whatever works best for you, okay  ?

Let's wait and see what the administrator has to say about it.

Note that there is currently an experiment running to use the Firefox Account for the SUMO website for newly created profiles as you can read in the Blog link I posted, so this may have nothing to do with Sync.

Transition period (May-June)

We will start with a transition period where users can log in using both their old username/password as well as Firefox Accounts. During this period new users registering to the site will only be able to create an account through Firefox Accounts. Existing users will get a recommendation to connect their Firefox Account through their existing profile but they will still be able to use their old username/password auth method if they wish. Our intention is to have banners across the site that will let users know about the change and how to switch to Firefox Accounts. We will also send email communications to active users (logged in at least once in the last 3 years).

Switching to Firefox Accounts will also bring a small change to our AAQ (Ask a Question) flow. Currently when users go through the Ask a Question flow they are prompted to login/create an account in the middle of the flow (which is a bit of a frustrating experience). As we’re switching to Firefox Accounts and that login experience will no longer work, we will be moving the login/sign up step at the beginning of the flow – meaning users will have to log in first before they can go through the AAQ. During the transition period non-authenticated users will not be able to use the AAQ flow. This will get back to normal during the Soft Launch period.

Soft Launch (end of June)

After the transition period we will enter a so-called “Soft Launch” period where we integrate the full new log in/sign up experiences and do the fine tuning. By this time the AAQ flow should have been updated and non-authenticated users can use it again. We will also send more emails to active users who haven’t done the switch yet and continue having banners on the site to inform people of the change.

Yes, I WANT to set up a Firefox (Sync) account, but not able to verify my account/email

For what SUMO account did you have a problem with verifying? Is that for the account (nationsorg) that you used to create this thread ?

Did you then create the second account (adminnationsorg) because you weren't able to use the other account? Is the adminnationsorg account connected to a Firefox Account?

Note that if you created a Firefox Account to be used for SUMO then you can use this same account for Sync and vice versa. The same Firefox Account can be used for various services and SUMO will be one of them.

@ cor-el :

This thread has two topics :

1) The OP wants to set up a Sync account, but repeatedly gets the   "Verification link expired" (tried "Resend", which didn't work). Regarding this problem I forwarded this thread to a Sync developer.

2) The OP wants to use two SUMO accounts - regarding this topic I forwarded this thread to an administrator.

What I need is to be able to enter into the Firefox profile email: admin@nationsorg.com + password and it saves my tabs in the CLoud, so next time i reopen the browser i'll not loose my tabs

> I will forward this to a Sync developer.

Hi, that's me :-)

I'm going to follow up on this in bugzilla at https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1561103 but will report back here with any solutions/tips that might help other users.

From our investigation, the issue here appears to be that the user's mail server was reporting a "transient delivery failure" back to our system when we sent the account verification email. This causes us to delete the newly-created account and ask the user to try again, because it typically indicates that there was a typo when entering the email address.

It's not clear to me why the mail server was reporting this error but still accepting the email for delivery.

There seems to be a bug in Firefox Accounts where this event is sending the user to the "signin" screen rather than back to the "signup" screen, which made things a bit confusing. The error messaging could also improved, e.g. saying "account does not exist" rather than "verification link expired" in this case.

> It's not clear to me why the mail server was reporting this error > but still accepting the email for delivery.

The user had an auto-reply set up on their email account, which was causing our systems to think the confirmation email had bounces. Disabling the auto-reply has fixed the problem.
