sorry, I'm not a web developper and do not know how to use these links.

Got it.

(1) Download the following file and move it into your existing chrome folder

https://www.userchrome.org/samples/userChrome-tabs_on_bottom_Fx65.css

(2) Delete your existing userChrome.css file

(3) Rename the userChrome-tabs_on_bottom_Fx65.css file to just userChrome.css

Windows: You can right-click the file, then Rename, then remove the -tabs_on_bottom_Fx65 part from the file name so you end up with exactly userChrome.css and then click away to complete the edit.

The next time you exit Firefox and start it up again, it should discover that file and apply the rules.

Thak you, this I know very well, but Firefox should send a mail to reset the password which it never did. It is simply ignoring every link within an opened page.

Email reset is sent to the registered email that is on the account if you changed your email or have it blocking firefox email as Spam you won't get such email resets.

Hi, your original subject line mentions redirects, so as the first step, please make sure the redirect block is turned off:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.

(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste access and pause while the list is filtered

(3) If the accessibility.blockautorefresh preference is bolded and "modified" or "user set" to true, double-click it to restore the default value of false

Next, what kinds of links aren't working? It sounds as though there is a problem with the Firefox Account page, such as:

https://accounts.firefox.com/signin

Is that the one? Does it affect other sites as well?

What I also really don´t like is the following change with one of the latest updates: There is no possibility left to move the bookmark line below the symbol line. This userChrome.css is no longer working.

Hmm, I'm not sure what you mean. The normal order in the toolbar area above the web page content is:

  • Title bar (optional)
  • Menu bar (optional)
  • Tabs bar
  • Navigation toolbar
  • Bookmarks toolbar (optional)

So the Bookmarks Toolbar should be on the bottom.

To share a userChrome.css file, since this forum can make a mess of any kind of code, you could consider posting on Pastebin (no login required) -- https://pastebin.com/ -- and then share the link back here.

Sorry to have been too vague. I want, as I had it all the years, FF was accompanying my internet surfing, the Tabs bar below the Bookmarks toolbar

The structure changed in Firefox 65, I think. The most updated approach to "tabs on the bottom" can be found here:

https://github.com/Aris-t2/CustomCSSforFx

I have an excerpt from a few months ago here:

https://www.userchrome.org/what-is-userchrome-css.html#movetabbar

I don't use that myself, so if you try it, let me know whether it still works.

Yes, in Firefox 65+, a different set of rules is needed. Please see my earlier reply with the links.

Dear jscher 2000, sorry, I'm not a web developper and do not know how to use these links. And even worse,- the original problem with blockes links returned although accessibility.blockautorefresh is on "false".

Why do you have to delete web data and cookies on exit? There is an option for that here:

Options page > Privacy & Security panel > History section

Select Firefox will: Use custom settings for history

Check the box for "Clear history when Firefox closes"

You can use the Settings button to the right of that checkbox to select exactly what is removed. Please do not remove "Site Preferences" -- your custom permissions for sites, zoom levels for sites, etc.
