Hello

I have had this issue for 3 days now. I am unable to access yahoo mail or yahoo in general because I get warning potential risk ahead message. I had to make twitter account to be able to get in touch with yahoo support but they just offered a yahoo link which, of course, I am unable to open because of "potential risk ahead". I tried solutions suggested by people here at mozilla support, like clearing history, cache etc but it didn't work. I also tired accessing yahoo via internet explorer and chrome (installed on my father's laptop, windows 10) Of course same message appears. I am using windows 7 64 bit. I also tried Edge and of course it says yahoo site is not secure. I have never had these kind of problems before. I was always able to access yahoo via FIrefox and other browsers. It's really damn annoying because i see no solution to this damn crap. Also I am unable to upload a 170kb screenshot to show you the issue. Just keeps loading and loading and it doesn't stop. So I guess I will just have to describe it:

Firefox detected a potential security threat and did not continue to guce.yahoo.com. If you visit this site, attackers could try to steal information like your passwords, emails, or credit card details.

What can you do about it?

The issue is most likely with the website, and there is nothing you can do to resolve it. You can notify the website’s administrator about the problem.

Websites prove their identity via certificates. Firefox does not trust this site because it uses a certificate that is not valid for guce.yahoo.com. The certificate is only valid for *.amz-aws.jp. Error code: SSL_ERROR_BAD_CERT_DOMAIN

Hi again to all !

I am letting you know that yahoo is now WORKING for me! And i feel like a complete idiot but all I did today was I restarted modem. After that I went to see if I can now open yahoo.com and it WORKS! So I want to thank you all for your advice and help and at the same time I apologise. I wish I did this sooner before I came here to "bug" you with this issue. Once again I thank you! Consider this issue resolved :))

I simply type yahoo in google search and click on the very first yahoo link provided. I never had problems like this untill a few days ago. Also i am not using any of the software you mention in your reply. I can open other web sites but yahoo is just a disaster. Non stop security risk messages each time i try. Thank you for the reply.

Instead of a search, why not just type Yahoo.com or you could add it to the bookmarks toolbar.

What search engine are you using? Could it be the issue?

Hi Fred

I always use google as search engine. It was always working great. ANd it still does. Of course I typed yahoo.com before I decided to contact support. It does NOT work. I still get a warning potential risk ahead message. I managed to upload screenshots for you to see what happens. And I am slowly losing hope. Could be something messed up with my ISP? I can browse everything else without problems except yahoo. I cant view my emails. The guy from yahoo help on twitter informed me he sent my info to their engineers for further investigation. This is just beyond stupid. Im not sure is it malwarre or.. i dunno.. Still I do appreciate your help!

Those are certificate errors.

Near The bottom of the Potential Security Risk page, press the Advanced button. This should display the information we need to check.

Copy everything (not a snapshot) and post it here.

Something about that yahoo page with guce doesn't add up here. Is there a reason why you can't just use www.yahoo.com? What is that page suppose to link to?

WestEnd When you put a question mark, or anything else, after a link, the forum thinks it is part of the link. The proper way is to add a space between the link and the question mark.

That was very good work. Well done. Please flag your last post as Solved Problem so others will know.

A modem is also a computer. And sometimes a computer needs to do a reboot.
