I can't disconnect from Synch because I'm stuck in 2-factor hell & authy doesn't help. How to get back to step 0?

I used Authy to authenticate my Firefox account. I also used a 2nd email with my firefox account. It also started off so nicely and seemed like the proper, careful thing to do.

But somewhere along the way, amidst various installs/deletions, my authy app got deleted/reinstalled and became out of synch with my firefox, so now the codes (or maybe they're called keys?) that it generates are not recognized by my firefox account. And I can't seem to access any backups or recovery codes that work either.

And so here's the big problem now: On a positive note, yes, my bookmarks can synch between my macbook air and my iphone 8. And yes, on my firefox account I can change the password as many times as I want. BUT, I because I don't have the right authenticator codes working now, I would just like to re-start from scratch, and I would like to disconnect my two emails that are currently associated with this Firefox account.

However, without having the correct authenticator 6-character or long-character info, unfortunately I cannot even get that far! I cannot successful complete the delete action to delete that firefox account in order to do this. So now those two emails of mine are held hostage by this particular Firefox account, and I can't use them in another Firefox account, and I can't use them properly in this Firefox account either because the 2FA isn't working well with the Authy.

I just want to disconnect them and start over, but there seems to be no way to get out of this multifactor circular hell. And also, while I am very happy to have finally found this help screen to type in my question, it took me a LONG time to even find out where to submit my question -- I had to browse through so many not appliable topics for days until I found where I could send something more than just a happy or sad feedback face. It should be much more straightforward to submit a question. Thanks for any help anyone can provide!

Try to reset the Firefox Sync password to see if that gives access to the account and disable two factor authentication.

You may have to try this more than once to be able to disable 2FA. Previous Firefox Account Recovery Codes expire when new ones are created.
