is plugin shockwave director plugin necessary if it is then which plugin should be used in place of it or should I remove it
when i tried to update plugin I saw that shockwave for director is venerable and should be updated , is this plugin useful, if not, should i disable it .

You can uninstall Shockwave for Director via the Windows Control Panel. This plugin is hardly used these day and was previously only used for some games.
Do not confuse Shockwave for Director and Shockwave Flash plugin as these are different plugins that each have their own purpose.
