Since update 50.0 we have had issues with a white box appearing in the bottom left hand corner of the screen. This doesn't affect all users but it does affect a large amount.

To remove it you can use the restore down/maximize button however the next time Firefox is loaded, it re-appears.

On the attached screenshot i have removed any work related content, but in the corner you can see half a circle around the white box.

Any ideas why this is happening and how we can resolve it?

The remove the auto-generated data, as I'm not having the issue and didn't want you wasting your time and looking through that,.

Kind regards

Marc

Is this the same area where you see the usual status messages when a web page is loading and when you hover a link?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
  • Do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

Hi Cor-el, tried that and unfortunately no luck. your right in saying its where the page info shows and its seems to be leaving a white area in its place.

Any other ideas, it's driving me crackers and i got users on at me day in day out ha-ha

Is this with one site or all of them?

Start your Computer in safe mode with networking. Then start Firefox. Try Safe websites. Is the problem still there?

Did you remove the content of that white box? If so, maybe the "page" hadn't completely loaded and was showing a "status message" with the URL of the content that was still loading.

If that white box was empty already when you took that screenshot, it is likely a minor incompatibility with that application.

I tried booting the machine up in safe mode and the firefox in safe mode and it still does the same.

The issue seems to be with the one website we use on a daily basis.

The issue is the page loading info that appears in the bottom left hand corner of the page leaves a blank white space after loading the page.

It's happening on a website that uses flash, which i know isn't the best thing to use. However its the web system we use and have no choice but to.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks for your help so far guys
