I cannot reply to a message after reading it, and clicking on Delete closes the tab. This is now happening on both of my Macs running 10.9.5 and FF 35.0.1

Kindly update to the latest version of Firefox. What is your platform used by the way? Experiencing problem in some other browsers too? It could be a virus attacking your machine.
