Related issue: Firefox no longer likes my password. It has 8 characters, but only letters and numbers. Things got messed up while trying to fix it, so I am not sure of my password anymore. Apparently Firefox and Mozilla have separate accounts. I don't know which system's password is broken.

I use Firefox because it is non-chromium, which typically offers more user freedom and control, but these new performance settings which cannot be edited individually, but are controlled automatically, are overstepping. Please advise how I can change the settings on a deeper level than simply switching off hardware acceleration. I'd like to limit multiprocessing primarily, but I would also like to have access to other performance settings. Further, I would like to have more control over how Firefox can access my devices. Please advise how I can access and edit the full list of permissions available to Firefox. I ask for this in the interest of transparency and personal data protection.

Whenever I open Firefox on my MacBook Air and attempt to search via Google, I receive the following message from Google with a Captcha request to verify that I am not a robot. "Our systems have detected unusual traffic from your computer network. This page checks to see if it's really you sending this request." This does not happen in Safari nor when i use Google on my iPad or iPhone - all of which use the same IP address. I have refreshed Firefox and it is on the latest version. This started about two weeks ago. There is no malicious software on my computer. I have cleared all cookies and browsing history. Help!

Keyboard focus properly defaults to the address bar for new normal windows, and new tabs both normal and private. It is ONLY in new private windows that the address bar does not auto-grab keyboard input.
The address bar is highlighted as though it SHOULD have input focus, but typing does nothing until I click in the address bar manually.
This is unfathomably annoying. I've tried fiddling with various settings in about:config, and I've tried running in troubleshoot mode to rule out extensions causing the issue. Also tried a fresh firefox profile and the issue persisted.
And it is rather annoying that the report does not tell me which addon is misbehaving either. I do know it runs just fine without any addons enabled so hence, the problem… (xle nububuwo)
