Using Thunderbird, since yesterday it is not possible to download my incoming emails anymore. And on another PC download is no problem. Sending email works fine. Help!! I looked at the error console in the extra menu, developers tools. The error console contains the following message: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80520001 (NS_ERROR_FILE_UNRECOGNIZED_PATH) [nsIXPCComponents_Utils.readUTF8URI]" nsresult: "0x80520001 (NS_ERROR_FILE_UNRECOGNIZED_PATH)" location: "JS frame :: resource://gre/modules/L10nRegistry.jsm :: L10nRegistry.loadSync :: line 658" data: no] 2 L10nRegistry.jsm:658:19 Successfully loaded OpenPGP library rnp.dll from C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Thunderbird\rnp.dll RNPLib.jsm:49:13 [Exception... Can you tell me what to do? Thanks. Ron Jedema

If you are using ESET/NOD32 security/AV then probability is high that ESET is causing your problems. According to ESET forums, you should temporarily disable SSL on ESET until they solve the problem per https://support.eset.com/en/kb3126-disable-ssl-filtering-in-eset-windows-products?ref=esf - the problem is being reported by dozens of users https://forum.eset.com/topic/26517-problems-with-thunderbird-and-imaps/ https://forum.eset.com/discover/

You might also inform them of your difficulty.

I'm having a similar problem. I don't use ESET. Thunderbird version is 78.6.

After the last two (I think it's been two) updates, Thunderbird will not fetch any mail on opening. It will fetch mail if I open Thunderbird and wait for the server settings to kick in. And it will fetch mail if I manually click the Get Messages for each account.

Any ideas of how to fix?
