has worked great for years, recently I just get a sound when I click on the shortcut and it does not open uninstalled and reinstalled and it started once i logged off it would not restart, just a bonk sound when I push the shortcut as before I reinstalled

Open the Programs Folder on you system, and start Firefox from it's folder.
