I recently installed TB on my new machine and I'm having trouble with my address book. The order of addresses are displayed by first name. I'd like them sorted by last name. Maybe I'm blind, but I haven't found where this is specified..?

Every few months, my message sorting will switch to threaded mode. It did it again within the last couple of days.

I thought maybe it reverts to defaults whenever an update comes through, but update history shows my last update was Sept. 12 (exactly a month ago), and I used T-Bird yesterday, and messages were not threaded then.

I'm thinking that if I change the defaults to "unthreaded", this would stop happening, but I'm curious if it's common for it to randomly switch to the default irrespective of updates.

Would the computer rebooting (whether manually or automatically for, say, Windows updates) cause it to revert to defaults - is that what's going on?

I'm using the latest version of Thunderbird. I just updated to Version 128.3.1esr. The problem is that I cannot edit or add event dates to Thunderbird Clients. I can see all my previous events but it will NOT let me add or edit events. This all worked fine before the latest update occurred, so it's related to the changes that Thunderbird made in this last update. This makes Thunderbird calendar useless.

I'm using TB 115.6.0 on MacOS

About two days ago, a window popped up asking me to sign into Google calendar. I attached a picture of the window.

I entered my gmail address and gmail password and it said the data I entered aren't correct. (I am sure that the password I entered is correct. It's stored in 1Password and I can use it to sign into any of my Google accounts.)

The pesky window pops up about every half hour.

Any suggestions for making it go away?

hi, I just went from Sylpheed to Thunderbird and my question is just an aesthetic question. the "local folders" label is always in bold and in my opinion isn't nice to see, it seems as if there is always something urgent to read. I tried to modify the ccs file, you can change font, color, set "font-weight: normal", but only this label always stays bold. thank you

A google workspace account I used to use has been deleted on google. I want to keep my repository of emails for that account. I have tried to tell tbird NOT to poll any servers re this account, but I think it still does.

For that account in server settings: - check for new messages at startup is off - check for new messages every x minutes is off - allow immediate server notifications when new messages arrive is off

I remove the SMTP setting for that account entirely.

The error message mostly shows up when I've switched from say Sent to Inbox. At those times I am not even looking at that accounts messages, there are other active accounts. The exact message is: Authentication failure when connecting to server imap.gmail.com I can't be positive that it is related to this now gone account that I still keep in thunderbird, but the issue did start when the account went inactive.

Hello. In Account Settings->Copies & Folders I've placed my subsidiary folders directly under the root which represents my account. See screenshot.

Accessing my mailbox via a web-mailer, the interface conforms to this setting. See screenshot.

But in the Thunderbird interface, my folders are arranged as shown in the screenshot. You can see that these folders are sub-folders of my Inbox. How can I correct this?

I continually receive this request for access to an account that is not one I have added to Thunderbird. How can I delete this email account and stop these annoying repetitive notices???

At the bottom of each 'card' for an email in 'card view', there's an entire like of empty space. Given that each card is only three lines high, that means 1/3rd of it is wasted and my display view for emails shows only 66% of the emails it could. That is not helpful.

Is there any way to get rid of that giant empty line?

Just recently I discovered the option "Prefer display name over message header" (German: Anzeigenamen statt Namen aus Kopfzeile der Nachricht verwenden) in the TB addressbook entries, but after upgrading from V115 to V128 the option has vanished.

Is there a substitute or is this a bug that will be fixed soon?

The letters in the folder list on the left and the Inbox are way too small. They didn't used to be. I don't kmnow why this happened. How can I change the letter size?

The app was recently updated automatically. Since then I am unable to read certain texts. I have checked color settings but there are no options that would correct these issues. (please refer to attached images)

Buen día, estoy teniendo problemas debido a que Thunderbird me esta borrando los email mayores a 14 dias. El correo lo tengo configurado como IMAP y lo tuve que configurar tambien como POP3 cuando ví que sufria de este problema. El servidor no está configurado para borrar los mensajes. Lo que hice para probar fue dejar de entrar por thunderbird hace un par de días e ingresar por la web y tomé nota de los correos existentes, hasta hoy (09/10/24) tenia email de los días 20/09 (19 dias) y 23/09 (16 dias) y al abrir Thunderbird estos se borraron. Paso captura de como estan configurados ambas cuentas (es la misma en diferentes protocolos)

La version de thunderbird es 128.3.0esr (64-bit)

Hello, something has changed for the worse. The quick filter mode works badly. First of all, it is tiresome when I type a phrase in the quick filter box, then switch to another folder, and in the quick filter box the phrase has not been deleted and I have to delete it manually. This is impractical, and it used to be that when I changed folders, the quick filter mode would reset. Secondly, there are some problems with it, because in some folders like sent, it doesn't show any emails even though they are there. Only when I close the quick filter mode (although I never had to do it before) do the mails in sent appear. On the other hand, with quick filtering mode enabled, even when I delete everything that is entered there, it still doesn't show emails in some folders. The third last thing is the extended time to show mails that load quite long after typing a phrase in the quick filtering field. My work is severely slowed down by this. Hello, my thunderbird calendar does not fit in the display windows. I have 3 monitors - 21,24 and 27 inches. Thunderbird was on a window that is 24 inches. After moving to a window that is 21 the application did not compress the calendar and I do not see all days from Monday to Sunday only Monday-Saturday.

After moving to the largest window of 27 inches thunderbird stretched even more and then after moving to a window of 21 inches even more gaps were visible, this time I see only the days Monday - Thursday.

I need help, I want all days of the week to be visible on the 21 inch monitor and the calendar to be in its original size

I even went into account settings and tried clicking on Thunderbird Settings and it does nothing there also. Can I reinstall over the existing program without losing anything to try and see if that helps and fixes the problem?

I use the USHolidays calendar within Thunderbird. As of today, this calendar now includes all state holidays. Is it possible to delete or filter out all state holidays so that only the US (federal) holidays appear? Note that I am using Thunderbird version 115.15.0 (64-bit).
