Hi there, Just installed Thunderbird email. I have Original HTML in Thunderbird settings, not changed anything. How do I resolve this? I appreciate your help

docx and xlsx attached files don't open with I click on them. I want them to open in Word and Excel. Nothing happens. I have to save them to my Desktop and then I can open them.

I can't find any associations in "files and attachments".

I have Mozilla Thunderbird and I find that some emails particularly with attachments (but not always) disappear from my inbox after a few months and I can't find them by doing a search under the sender's name or in my inbox.

As an example my most important emails come from 2 sources. One is an accountancy practice and the other a property management company. Those from the accountancy practice are nearly always missing after a few months but those from the management company rarely are.

If I carry out a search on the accountancy practice name, nearly all of the emails in the list are ones that I have sent and the only way I can find a particular email is to look at the trail before my email, but by doing so there are no attachments with their email. If I then look at the date of their email in the trail and then search for the date in my inbox, the email isn't there.

My problem is that JPEG attachments don't open, though PNGs do. I've got Original HTML actioned. Defaults are set to Fastone Image Viewer. Right click shows options but "open" doesn't work. Any ideas?

Seit kurzem, ich glaube seit dem letzten Update, werden mir Anhänge (in meinem Fall automatisch hinzugefügte Anhänge von WISO Mein Büro) immer mit dem Namen des Pfades verschickt, wo die Datei vorübergehend gespeichert wird. Fürher hat es immer einen kurzen Namen (Rechnung Nr. XY) genommen. Ist das jetzt ein Problem von Thunderbird oder WISO? Kennt jemand das Problem?

I am running Thunderbird version 128.11.0esr (64 bits) on Windows 10 Pro. I have defined, in Windows, the default program for .doc and .docx files to be LibreOffice Writer and this works fine when I click on such a file in Windows.

But when I got a docx attachment in a Thunderbird email, and clicked on it, nothing happened. When I right-click on it, it just offers to open (not to select which program to open it with). I have to save the file locally, and click on it in Windows in order to open it.

This is very frustrating, all the more so that it used to work. I tried adding the two following lines to the prefs.js file, to no avail - no change:

By right clicking an image, there is a menu which has more options, and in more options there is "send to". By clicking "mail recipient", a dialog opens up to select the file size preferred. Then click attach. At this point, in windows 10, the email is ready with attachment in Thunderbird. Now, new PC with windows 11, when I click attach, the dialog disappears, but no email appears in Thunderbird. I have checked settings, and Thunderbird is chosen for .eml and for MAILTO Does anyone know how to make this work in windows 11?

I cannot open attachments directly in an email with a double click, Probably since a week or so back. I have to copy the link address and insert it into a web reader. There is no command in the settings as I can see Quite a nuisance, Best regards, Gustaf

Whenever I get an email that says they are including an attachment, the attachment is never there. What is going on and how to I get email attachments. Any help is appreciated.

Have been forwarding all my AOL mail to Thunderbird for years without problem.

About 2 wks ago, email with attachments stopped being forwarded. Emails without attachments are forwarded without problem. AOL says nothing changed on their end although I noted that the "Forwarding" tab no longer appears on their mail choice menue.

I see that any emails I sent using my outlook/microsoft account, two copies of that sent emails get generated under 'sent' folder when it should just be one so each time I have manually delete one copy. I have not seen this issue with other providers like Gmail, Yahoo or iCloud (Apple).

The other issue is which I have only started having today is that when I am trying to attach files the dialog box from which I can select the files open briefly for like 2 seconds (with no contents visible) and then disappears.

Hello, How do I disable the setting in Thunderbird that deletes attachments after I reply to emails? This is super frustrating and quite embarrassing when I have to ask clients to resend things.

Godt nytårJeg har forsøgt at oprette filelink og skal så oprette en konto, synes det ser besværligt ud når man ikke kender til den slags , men div. adresser og konto. Jeg får på skærmen besked på at gå til fanebladet udgående. men udgående kan jeg ikke se nogen steder.

Vedr. oprettelse af kom´nto til webdaw vil jeg gerne hvis jeg kan få en uddybende forklaring på hvor og hvad jeg skal skrive . Foreløbig tak for hjælp

When I search the web for this I get loads of results telling me how to insert emojis in emails I'm sending. That is not my problem.

The problem I have is that someone keeps sending a single emoji as a reply to an email. Instead of displaying that it adds it as an attachment which is really annoying.

How do I fix that? I've already set TB to display images inline but that has no impact.

I'm running TB 146.0b3 (32-bit) although I don't know why. Is there not a 64 bit version and does the b3 mean I'm running a beta version? How do I get to run a 64 bit version?
