Current firefox version: 155.0

Since the last few updates, update frequency of title bar of inactive tabs slows down over time. Sometimes there is important info in title bar that should be updated frequently. Are there any flags in about:config that can be reverted to achieve that?

I’d like to report a serious issue with Firefox lately. The browser has been performing very poorly and frequently becomes “Not Responding.” In many cases, websites fail to load properly or get stuck indefinitely, even though my internet connection is working normally.

I’m experiencing these issues on the latest version of Windows 11 with the latest version of Firefox. This has become quite frustrating and significantly affects my daily browsing experience.

I hope the Firefox team can investigate these stability and website-loading issues and provide a fix soon. Firefox used to be much more reliable, but recently the overall experience has been very disappointing.

I am experiencing severe browser lag and high CPU usage on Firefox specifically when managing complex backend forms and inventory management scripts on our e-commerce operations portal.

The page script execution freezes when opening multiple tabs alongside developer console tools. I have already cleared cache and disabled third-party extensions, but memory leaks still happen during heavy DOM rendering.

Is there a specific setting in about:config or hardware acceleration flag recommended for heavy web app environments?

I've been testing a browser-based metronome in Firefox and noticed that the audio click can sometimes feel slightly out of sync with the visual beat. It isn't a complete audio failure—the metronome keeps running and produces sound—but the timing can feel a little delayed or inconsistent, especially when using it at faster BPMs. The site I'm testing with is TheTapTempo's online metronome. I'm trying to figure out whether this is related to Firefox's handling of web audio or whether the delay is more likely to come from the system/audio device. A few things I'm wondering about: • Could Firefox's Web Audio timing cause a small difference between the scheduled beat and when the sound is actually heard? • Could Bluetooth headphones make the problem more noticeable because of their audio latency? • Can Firefox extensions or hardware acceleration affect the timing of browser-based audio? • Is there a Firefox setting or diagnostic mode that would be useful for testing this? • Would comparing the same metronome in Firefox and another browser help determine whether the issue is Firefox-specific? I've also noticed that the perceived timing can depend on the audio output being used, so I'm not sure whether this should be treated as a Firefox issue or an audio-device latency issue. What's the best way to troubleshoot this in Firefox?

So normally firefox uses a reasonable amount of ram but sometimes the amount of ram usage almost doubles, then if I try to change tabs the program freezes. I then have to wait for firefox to stop using the excess of ram and return back to normal levels.

I believe this mainly happens when I have youtube or reddit open but I have no idea how to fix this.

I have already tried reinstalling firefox and deleting/changing extensions. The current extension i have on is adguard adblocker and no others.

My summary says it all, really. There's not much more that I can add, except that I have used Firefox for many years and have never had this problem before. The index page itself is fine when I view it in Firefox. And if I right-click the page and view its source code, everything is there. Furthermore, I have no difficulty in editing the page in other browsers. (Since this problem arose, I have been using the Norton browser. But I have also been able to scroll down to the end of the source code in Google Chrome.)

I'm experiencing continuous screen blackouts or glitches. These are unaffected by the site I'm on and only occur for Firefox browser. When I switch a tab or click a button the browser blacks out and becomes unresponsive then comes back on after a few seconds. This happens repeatedly. Clearing the cache, running a repair, and uninstalling / reinstalling the app have had no affect on it.

A week ago, Firefox started freezing and acting all glitchy. Troubleshooting said to uninstall and reinstall, which I did. That's when the real trouble began. It lost all my data, pretty much signed me on as a brand-new user. Luckily, I was able to recover my data from my phone app, but it still did not work correctly. Nothing in the support pages was helpful, so I finally had ChatGPT assist. We got it restored using my recovery key and I though that everything was fixed. Then two days ago I got the 'not responding' thing happening every time I tried to reopen it, along with a generic Firefox web page opening randomly. I reopened it several times in troubleshooting mode, again, no help. So. uninstall, reinstall, uninstall, reinstall... you get the picture. I finally thought I had gotten it properly restored at 5:30 this morning with all my previous tabs showing up. But as soon as I tried to use it, the same old 'not responding' message. I always get the pop-up asking me if I want to close it or wait for it to respond, which it will eventually do, until I try to click on a tab. What the hell am I missing here? I've had Firefox for, oh, I don't know, 20 years or so. Never had problems.

I have Firefox 154.0 on my 2 PCs that have Windows 11 and both computers are updated fully as of 22nd August 2026 with both Windows updates and Nvidia drivers.

Background: On my 2 PCs I have an "old" stationary PC with Geforce 1070 TI card, and I have a laptop Asus Vivobook 15 PRO with a Geforce GTX 4600 card. Both computers working fine and no issues so far.

Symptoms: I updated Firefox. Note! I always update Firefox on my computers, so it wasn't a clean install of the browser. And suddenly on both computers there were black artifacts all over screen and flickering when scrolling on Facebook or Youtube. Also even worse on sites were you drag a div and the browser turns into a 1-bit disco.

Workaround that seems to be working for me: I went to about:settings and searched for hardware on my laptop (the one with 4600 card) and searched for "hardware". Then I disabled the hardware acceleration thing, or whatever it was, but unchecking the result after search. Then I restarted my laptop not using hardware acceleration and it worked fine.

Then again I search about:settings for hardware and checked the bottom of the 2, not sure what the first one was. And restarted computer.

Now I don't have those black artifacts and flickering any more.

Not sure if that somehow triggered something that works for fresh installs or not.

Anyway... I can't submit a ticket since I can't reproduce the error it's no point submitting to Bugzilla. But hopefully this makes sense anyways... But I'm pretty sure you guys are aware of this issue already. But posting anyways in case it might help.

If my computer idles for a long period of time, Firefox doesn't recover at all. If I leave a website open, Firefox won't let me go back into it. I need to close Firefox, wait 10 seconds and open it again to open any website.

Whenever I click any link that will play a video in a video playing website such as YouTube, Instagram or TikTok, it will cause the entire tab to glitch out and freeze in on the page it was on before I clicked the link.. The entire tab completely freezes and never unfreezes itself, with the cursor having whatever appearance it had when the page froze, and being unable to click anything. The only thing it can do is type a new URL into the search bar, but the search button/enter bar is also ineffective, so I'm stuck on a frozen webpage unless I close the tab or change to another one. I've tried troubleshooting, fiddling with the autoplay setting and turning off extensions, none of which worked. Any ideas?
