zen_browser has this feature which I use multiple times per day every day: keyboard shortcut ´shift+cmd+c`to copy current URL to clipboard.

This is such a useful feature. It helps me save time and speed up my workflows a lot, so much that it's absence in Firefox is preventing me from going back to Firefox.

The feature was implemented in v1.6b back in early 2025 in zen_browser.

Copy URL with Ctrl+Shift+C

Thanks for linking the add-on extension, which is helpful and works around the shortcoming.

Having this in core would be expected and really useful to users since granting access to all browsed URLs to an extension always feels strange. Most users won't be able to review the code of the extension.

otto, if you don't wish to use an add-on and don't mind a few key presses, then you can copy the URL to the clipboard via either:

  • ctrl+L / ctrl+C
  • ctrl+I / tab / tab / ctrl+C

The first focuses the address bar, which (usually) is the current URL. The second brings up the Page Info dialogue box, and tabbing twice should focus the URL field. In both cases pressing esc should return focus to the website.
