Home button: How do I change the web address?

more options

I've had a website as my home page since the 1990s. The website in question, https://www.elvis-collectors.com/, has followed me through Netscape, Chrome, two laptops and around five PCs in that time.

However, Firefox updated this afternoon and removed the home button. I restored it but cant find out how to customize the URL to go to my website.

How do I fix this?

Who decides on these changes??

I've been on the internet since the mid 1990s. I dont go to that site much as I used to but it reminds me of the early days on the net. It has always been there. Please help.

There are a few different ways to set your home page. Check out the options in this article: How to set the home page.

Also, did you lose any other customizations? If so maybe Firefox wasn't able to restart in your regular profile and created new one? You could you check whether your stuff is available in a different profile, as follows:

Profile Manager Page

Inside Firefox, type or paste about:profiles in the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it.

This page should list at least one profile and could list many. (Each profile has two folders and one or more buttons. Do not use any Remove buttons!)

The profile that Firefox is currently using will have this:

This is the profile in use and it cannot be deleted.

Do you have any other profile(s) listed on this page? If so, you can check whether it is the one you were using recently by clicking its Launch profile in new browser button.

If it isn't what you want, simply close that new window.

If it IS what you want, back on the about:profiles page, click the Set as default profile button for that profile so Firefox uses it automatically at the next startup.

Thank you for your help.

I also as of this afternoon have the tabs tool bar is on the top of Firefox when for nearly two decades it was between the browser and bookmarks tool bars. I opened another quirey about that at this forum. Frustraiting.

I just saw your other thread where you mentioned doing a Refresh, so never mind on the second profile question, your earlier profile will no longer be on the about:profiles page.
