I accidentally started the upgrade to 115 and aborted it. The "What's New in Thunderbird 115" now pops up every time I run the "old" version (102.15.1). It is my practice to close all running apps at night before I have the computer go to sleep mode. Consequently I have this message starting my default browser every time I restart TB. It has become annoying. There must be something I can do to stop this. I looked in all the appdata directories but couldn't find anything obvious. I also looked in the update directory but nothing obvious to me there either. Can you provide a fix for this?

I have not upgraded to 115 because too many people are having problems of one sort or another. I do not want to search for help to patch problems resulting from the upgrade process. When problems settle down a bit more, maybe then.

No contacts sharing my name synchronised from Gmail

I've recently started migrating to Thunderbird after relying on Gmail's web client for a long time, and an issue I'm running into is that it's missing a bunch of contacts after syncing, including all contacts with my own name. This is a practical issue as I send email to myself a lot, both between my accounts and to the same account as a form of task management.

I have a primary contact entry representing my @gmail.com address itself, which also has a couple other personal non-gmail addresses merged into it, as well as about half a dozen contacts created for my addresses at former employers, university accounts, etc. Not a single one of them has synced, and they don't seem to have anything in common other than bearing my name. Contacts for other people sharing my forename also don't seem to have synced, and neither has as a contact representing another former work email that wasn't named, but included my name in the address itself.

I cannot, for the life of me, figure out why these would all be skipped. They don't seem to have any other special characteristic. I haven't, thus far, found other contacts not synced, but with over 200 entries on the list, I might well have missed them.

I have 8 employees but one central email address. All 8 of my employees have their own computer but when I tag a specific email with a name (and colour) of one of them, some of the ther computers can see the tags others can't. What I am doing wrong?

Thunderbird Version 115.9.0 I have been using Message filters for many years without a problem. Recently my email provider, Cox, switched all email to Yahoo. The emails remained the same but had to change to Yahoo servers. All of this works fine receiving and sending emails. The only thing I notice is the emails download slower. The Filters now do not work all the time, I run them manually and some still don't work. If I go to the filter and click edit, don't change anything and exit and then run it manually it's works but doesn't work the next time. I wait until all email is downloaded and then manually run the filters, some work and some don't all the time. Thanks for any help. Ray Mulkey, Ray.Mulkey@cox.net.

TB InBox displays only ONE folder, CANNOT access InBox nor folders

For NO known reason TB had to be restarted. Opened, BUT only one folder, NOT the Inbox, is displayed. Cannot see NOR access the Inbox, nor any folder (none displayed). Restarting TB produces the same result every time.

If searched any - all TB headers / options. HELP & support yield no clue(s) nor solution(s).

I have an email account with IONOS and my wife has an account. We have had these accounts for several years. Recently my wife can not send email. We are configured the same and I do not have a problem. Server: smtp.ionos.com Port: 587 (tried others at IONOS support request) Security STARTTLS Authentication: Normal password. When she tries to send or forward with a simple text (one letter or larger, it does not seem to matter). She gets the following reply: "Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: Transaction failed Reject due to policy restrictions. For explanation visit https://www.ionos.com/help/index.php?id=2425&ip=198.177.53.191&c=hd&r=0MQ4Bx-1rqmFh0x4l-00ErW3. Please check the message and try again." When trying to go to that web page, it does not exist. I have gone to IONOS support and we have both looked at the configuration and can see no differences between my set-up and hers. I have deleted all email address from her machine and reloaded Thunderbird (115.9.0), restarted her machine and added back her email. Same results, she can receive but not send. If she uses her phone, it works, and if you go to the IONOS web site and use there service it works. I'm at my wits end and can not figure it out. I have also opened an incident with the IONOS Postmaster, which I think is their second level support. Please help.

Hello, For some reason, over the past couple of months I have been searching for varied emails and they are missing! At one point, I found that some had been put in an archive folder (that I did NOT set up) and they were recent emails. I removed them from the folder, placed them back in the regular inbox and deleted that folder. When I could not find another very important series of emails today, after searching numerous ways, I looked in the server and missing emails are there. I did look at a number of email threads where other people reported similar problems... but couldn't figure out what applied to my situation and how to fix this. To show a specific example, I attached two images ... the first is my Thunderbird email account that shows one Email only on Feb 18, 2024. The Juno server image shows 7 emails on that same date, four which were important contracts that were sent to me. Can you please help me locate and retrieve these and other missing emails? Last week, sometime, I received ALL the emails, that have come into my "mailbox", from about the time I purchased my latest computer, several years ago. There must be hundreds, if not thousands, of the little critters. All arranged alphabetically, starting with the letter "a". So far, the ONLY solution I've found from "Thunderbird Help", is to 1. Open inbox 2. Select [left click] one of the repeated emails. 3. This high lights the email in BLUE. 4. Select BOTH "CONTROL & A" KEYS at the same time. 5. This highlights the WHOLE PRESENT page of emails in BLUE. 6. The instructions then say to press the "DELETE" key. 7. Question is- IF I PRESS THE "DELETE" key, will that just delete the emails on this page, OR delete EVERY email in my entire "inbox"? The only OTHER remedy I've tried, is to send the unwanted emails, ONE at a time, to the "TRASH" folder, then empty the "TRASH" folder, when I get 10-15 emails in it. That could take a VERY long time. Awaiting your suggestion[s]-Joel Payne P.S. Might this happen again? If so, it may be time to go back to Carrier Pigeons.

Thunderbird auto updated to 115.10.1 and now it is behaving strangely.

1. The Message Filter has "Junk" at the bottom of the list of filters and anything that is not sent to a folder gets sent to the Junk folder. Instead all the junk is going to the Inbox.

2. Folders that have new email show up in blue highlighted folder as they should. But if I select those emails and read them, they remain highlighted but without the blue color.

3. Sometimes when I delete an email after reading, it deletes for a moment and then returns to the folder as unread. Multiple attempts to delete fail.

I have latest Thunderbird version (115.9.0 64bit) on fully patched Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS.

I'm trying to get it to display Day-of-Week for old messages - is this possible? I have tried all sorts of combination as detailed HERE to no avail.

I'd like concise instructions on how to do this (if it can be done). I do not believe trying a new profile will work as I need to test this for old messages - at least for messages older than a week.

From the link above, I can the Day-of-Week to work for the current week - but that only displays the day and time. What I'm after is as shown in the attached Outlook screenshot. Also see the closest I can get that to match in the Thunderbird screenshot.

Already invested time creating some html code for email signature on thunderbird. Wanted to create something prepared for dark modes on IOS. Everything was fine until I detected on IOS (dark mode)some white rectangles outside my email signature code. It´s a problem that I cannot solve because it´s outside my code, and I´m wondering if you are already aware of this issue.

I don't like see oauth/legacy/consent in the URL. - Change setting in Google from pop to imap - Cookie setting updated as forum suggest - JavaScript true as forum suggest
